What is the best step-by-step course of action if you see a cheat on a server 1.As a server admin and 2.As a normal player.
I have been playing for over two years and have heard of PB screenshots etc but don’t actually know how to take one. I know how to do /cheaters but dont know what to do with the information.
So a step-by-step guide on what action to take would be great
As a player,
/cheaters gives you the etpro GUID This is pretty unreliable, but may help identify the player in combination with other information.
and /cheaters <player number> tells you if etpro thinks they are cheating, and (if it thinks there is something odd going on) provides some encoded debug information the etpro team can check.
/pb_plist gives you (part of) the players PB GUID. PB GUIDS are easy to change, but they can help the admin find the player in logs.
Note that /cheaters output is recorded in the demo, if you are recording. /pb_plist output is not.
You can use /condump filename.txt to save the pb_plist output to a file (it will be in your fs_game directory, meaning etmain, etpub, etpro etc).
Once you have the GUIDs and demo, you can try to track down the admin of the server to get the person banned from that server. You can also pass the information on to the admins of various leagues, so they can ban that person from the league. In general, they will require IPs as well, which need to come from the server admin.
I was totally convinced this one guy was cheating tonight, but after observing him I really didnt see anything blatant.
I’m a pretty damn good sniper, and this guy was owning me with the K43… while he was strafing the entire time. He would strafe like 10 feet back and forth and just pick people off at will. Now I may be missing something, but when I try to strafe and fire the scope drops back to normal view and it’s very hard to hit something if you go slow and keep the scope up. He ended up with most frags, highest accuracy, and other awards at the end of every map, and had like 71 sniper kills.
I only obsed him strafe-sniping for a short time before he did something else, and didnt notice much strange behavior, but I thought his scope stayed up unnaturally long with his speed of movment.
yes but the guy in the demo was not crouching. He must have been running another hack other than an aimbot.

Was he wobbling while strafing? If you’re not sure, you can always record a demo and then hit Enter while replaying it. On 3rd person view you’ll have no more doubts.
