It’s very possible, and why not?

Although, when I had my own server running through (actually, now I forget who) I still called it my server. I figure as long as your paying for it, it’s yours.

I personally would only bother if I could host at least a 12 player server.

after poking around their forums for a minute it appears to be some kid who rents a box and sells privs on it, more or less. i don’t think you actually get your own private game installation (and you certainly don’t get your own box, but we already knew that by the price). at any rate i’m willing to bet the box(en) is stressing hard under the overload of games installed on it

UK broadband at 256K? I’m on 750K at the moment… the general minimum I’ve seen offered around is 512K… but that’s here in Birmingham… maybe different elsewhere…
Will have to try hosting sometime
Unfortunately I can’t seem to work out my IP address for an outsider… I’m connected through a router and those “What’s my IP” sites just sends back the address of the router. I’d love to get this sorted as I can be a server for ventrilo and other things then. I’ve tried looking through my router setup pages, but it doesn’t seem to give me the individual IP’s of the connected computers.

Upload ? (you certainly can get that, it it isn’t very common in a lot of places). In any case, 768kbit up should host about 8-10 players reasonably. However, many home connections only offer 128 up, even if the download is much better.

You have to use the routers IP, and make sure some kind of forwarding is set up so that it goes to the right computer. Exactly how you do this depends on the router.

Arse, I feared as much… I’ve tried getting that sorted, but the section for forwarding doesn’t give me an option for which computer I want to forward the stuff to :S
Ummm, not sure about the upload speed. I’ll have to talk to my housemate who’s got the details of the connection.

Edit:

Ok, I’m being a fool… just looked at it again and it’s right there in my face. Lol, thanks
