I saw a video for character customization for the rebels in Brink but the security forces looked different. So does that mean u will need to create 2 characters- one for rebel and one for security forces when u first start the game?
Character customization question
Nope, you make one character who’s got different outfits depending on which side he’s on in a match. Your skills/weapons/abilities/etc are consistent.
And of course, you can create several characters so you can try out different combinations of stuff…
Do the classes have something very noticable about them so if your a medic people know about it? (maybe an obvious one but im sure something like this would reduce how much you can customize your character)

Does your XP and unlocks get carried over to all characters ?
once youve unlocked something, it’s available to all your characters. each character has his own XP pool however
So we can expect security guys run around in car tier shoulder guards? If both teams can wear each other’s outfits then how can we discern them? It gives a whole new meaning to ‘enemy in disguise’.
Huh? We are talking about different characters you can create for yourself, not the 2 opposing sides.
Hi everyone.
Just one question, do we create only from a man’s body, or female characters are aslo available?
If not, that is no big deal, just thought it’d had more fun.
Yes I understand that. But if unlocks are carried over to all your characters then that would mean there would be no difference between both sides.

No chicks. From what I understand…
Here is my question:
If I get some XP and unlock some new pants on the resist side. Lets say they are neon orange and sweet looking. Obviously wearing them as the other faction would not match their theme… So, do I also get an unlock on that side? For lets say black pants with knee pads?
The video talks about unlocking clothing as well, if you can unlock clothes for both sides then both sides will look the same.
sorry, my poor wording. each character you make has a chosen security AND resistance outfit (kind of like PS3 SOCOM). the outfit he wears is dependant on which faction you’re playing in a given match…
Ah alright. Cool, that’s what has been impression all the time until I got confused.
I think we’ll have name tags above our heads or something else to identify each other.
I have a question as well.
Will there be gloves (in some gameplay vids the player had gloves in first person view) for security or possibly hand taping or bandages for resistance?
Considering this game had tons of customization, I’d think there would be a handful (no pun intended) of gloves/bandages available for both sides.
Hey.
I just found out about this game and have only started doing a little research, so please forgive me if I’ve missed something, but I thought I’d stick this question in here seeing as other people have started asking other questions already.
I was wondering whether there was any info around about how the clothes and equipment you choose would affect your stats and the way your character plays.
I mean, it would be a little weird if a guy in full body armour was taking the same damage as a guy with a bare chest.
But on the other hand, with the security forces being better armed and equipped than the resistance wouldn’t it bring up balance questions if they just took less damage.
If anyone could point me in the direction of any info, I would be grateful.

Welcome to the forums!
Good question. They (SD) have said that clothing choices won’t have any effect on your movement or ability to take damage or not take damage simply because they want you to be able to customize your character without being forced to look like a pillow just to ensure you don’t take as much damage as more lightly-dressed characters.
Hope that helps.
