For enhanced testing, i will release a alpha test release. (jeah, release² :P).
Its include Chaos Mod with Lua and without Lua.

You added some nice features, but overall it’s clearly visible that many features are taken from other mods. You proved that you know coding and you added some quite useful functions (especially support for MAC-addresses is a HUGE improvement!). I wouldn’t use your mod, but there are some functions that I would like to have on my server. So what I suggest you is, finish coding a mod people won’t use, and start coding addons like enhmod or QMM. Especially the MAC-ban thing, an intelligent teambalance that looks at K/D, accuracy and stuff and g_gametype 7 is something that would be used by server admins and it’s your chance to produce something “useful” and prove that you can do more than stealing stuff from other mods (no offense).

I am actually very fond of this mod.
It’s true several features are the same as in other mods. But I think that’s what it’s all about.

Every mod has it’s own cool things and I’ve been troubled with choices and dilemma’s in the past, choosing the right mod. This mod has all these features of other mods combined, creating a perfect gaming environment.

As I’ve read the credits, it seems a lot of people have worked together assembling this mod. I have very little knowledge of source editing nor the creators of different mods, but I believe you cannot ‘steal’ from another mod. You cannot open it’s dll files and rip the **** out of it. You can recreate it though. As the source codes of etmain and etpub (dunno which more) are public, they are allowing others to use their codes. Please tell me if I’m wrong.

As I said, I like this mod very much and I think it’ll offer us a very cool gameplay, which can be adjusted with the loads of vars contained in it.

Ripped or not, it’s a cool mod, ET is in the need of something new. It’s amazing how this game is kept alive all these years, but I just feel it’s going downwards. I believe this mod will contribute in something new.

personally, i don’t really mind if this mod uses parts of other mods (not surprised huh? :slight_smile: ).

any plans to add a more hardcore feeling to the game? more recoil, more weapon damage, one headshot kill, aim down sight…?

Some source codes are not released because makers want to keep them the features they’ve worked on so hard. And then, a guy come and “steal” everything to make one whole mod. Is it right? I’m sure you’re not autorized to.

But what’s done is done… Too late :confused:

You can’t steal their codes. You can’t just open their files and stuff. What would be the use of locking down their source codes, if anybody can just have a peak in their files?

Mods are open source so people can not only learn from the changes made, but also incorporate the changes into their own mods. Just because a lot of the features in the mod aren’t original features doesn’t mean you should condemn the mod.

I’d wait to try the mod on a server with real people before making any judgments.

I will add a little realistic mode. more muzzfleflash, more recoil…
Damage and Spread you can change with the weapon_damage.ini and weapon_spread.ini.
aim down sight? No, its first to hard. Second the mod size is then to big…

I’ve been playing around with those flashbangs a little more and concluded they’re REALLY overpowered.
The distance should be halved and only one flashbang per cvops.
And you should disable the option to hold the flashbang so it’ll go off faster, like a grenade. Rather hard to explain… I mean like you hold the flashbang, hold left-mouse, count to three and then throw it. It’ll go off instantly.

You really need to nerf these, else you’ll see thousand Cvopses running around in the Chaos servers.

Also, the jump sound on carpet sounds a little weird. Like somebody is stomped in his stomache.

g_flashdistance 2500 (Before 3000)
Max distance of the effect from the flashbang.

g_flashtime 16000
Time of max flashbang effect.

Nice Scenna We already have talked some months ago, and I was already wondering about the stuff what you made. Like the blood and the new weapons. The Flashbang as also wonderfull. I like the mod very well and I’m nearly sure of using it in the Future.

Though I stick to my point the class should have limited flashbangs to throw, idk if that is possible.

At 3:00 it seems one of your variables has effected the damage of the nade. Caused by these two new ones? Or did you just kick that nade away?

Man that actually hurt my ears when you threw the nade and the soldiers hearing went from a high pitch to fade out LOL

Realistic I guess, my ears are still ringing from it…

I tested it a bit in here: 85.214.146.169:27960

I had some serious problems with jumping. Most of the time it didn’t jump and sometimes the jumps were a bit erratic.

Really nice feature that on screen weaponbank display. Also, the flashbang is nice.

g_misc, flag 32:

Players can not jump if stamina is too low.

DJ is different compared with Jaymod. You have to tap space twice pretty fast in order to DJ.

Scenna, did you refer somewhere in your mod that you used some old vietnam features from VS|monkey? You can take it but it would be nice(you could show some respect between devellopers) to refer to the original creator. :wink:
