what installer did you use?

Wolfenstein ET needs admin rights so it can unpack this file in your computer. You could try to manually unpack this file by opening the pk3 (probaly the one in the mod folder you want to play) with a program such as winrar and copy paste the .dll fiiles into the mod folder.

Uninstall the game and install it again on another partition (not the one where your Windows system is installed). Do not run the game with administrator privilleages, it’s unsafe.

i have built a retro gaming pc running windows 98se. im getting the same error message when trying to join any servers, i have tried a couple different installers, the splashdamege custom, as well as the original then installing the updates,

system specs,
MSI 845PE Max motherboard
intel P4 2.66ghz
1gb ddr400 dual channel
ati radeon x850 pro 256mb agp
120gb WD IDE HDD
EVGA 450watt 80plus PSU

any ideas how to fix this error and get me in the game, i have tried to install a punkbuster stand alone installer i found on another site, still didnt work, im not sure if its PB related or not, any help would be great

I think that the most (if not all) current ET mods are not backwards compatible with Windows 98 so my wild guess is that your OS is too old to run current ET. Which mods do you try to play?

(twt_thunder) #7

Think it runs there too… You have allowed downloads in your options?

(Dragonji) #8

Yes, the game itself does but mods not necessarily as current Visual C++ Compiler does not support anything older than Windows XP.
