i made a demo of sum1 i was absoloutely certain had a wallhack and then watched it. it showed a wallhack (i had r_shownormals set to 1) but why when i made a demo of myself, it showed a wallhack? is there a “true” way of showing wallhacks?

r_shownormals will create see-thru walls-effect in ANY demo , wallhack or not.
The reason you have been told to use r_shownormals 1 when lpaying back demo , is then you can see if the player is acting like he COULD see thru walls, so if you see that he is tracking players thru walls (that u normally cant see thru), then that will get you an hint if he uses a wallhack…

the only way to know what to look for is to see one in action. This demo was a controlled experiment on my server and currently serves as a training video for our admins. The video is far too large for me to host @ about 450MB I also did a secondary fragvideo type to show what the hack looks like to the player.

No.
There are some dead giveaways (like someone tracking and trying to shoot through a wall/floor), but generally it’s difficult to tell. A single suspicious sequence is not evidence enough so you need to demo suspected wallhackers for some time.

When watching with r_shownormals, it is especially important to remember that the fact you are seeing through walls causes you to interpret what the suspect is doing as a response to things you can see, even if it isn’t.
One thing you can do to avoid this is look for instances where they DO get caught by surprise, where a wallhacker should have seen it comming. If they get jumped by a corner camper you can see with r_shownormals 1, then they most likely were not using a wallhack at that point.

speaking about that wallhacking cheating crap … is there way to cheat in wolfenstein et? i dont want any sources for cheats or something, i jsut want to know if it is possible at all … i read on some servers from joking people that they are using aim bots, i really dont know if its possible, i hope not, so, i really want to know if they were just jokin or not!
