Strange. Lets take an idea from COD. Then make a map for some obscure mod on one server.
Someone else takes the same COD idea and makes a map for the community. But he is the bad guy.

This is more about Shagileos and Manwhores hard work being taken away from them. But as noted here before Indyjones could not wait with his release any moment anymore, so he had to involve in this.
If he would not have shown off his work, waited a bit longer for the heat to go off and by that time had carried on with his cod5 it would be all right again.
Hence, i would not even say a bad word to him this year again if he would just go back to doing what he did before carentan and leave Shag & Manwhore alone.

EXACTLY, and you (Pegazus) want to defend SLUT ?
they ripped my site off for the nick generator and had the nerve to put their name on it
now they are whining because some one else made another version of Carentan for public use, while theirs is made for a mod that only runs on 1 server with maybe 50 players at most

they both ripped off the original CoD2 mapper

both parties are exhibiting extremely childish behavior

btw, if anyone missed the humour in my earlier posts/pics of the terrain for Flight Gear, it’s Carentan

The nick generator is a confusing one. One site has EasyRider written on and other has EasyRider and Shagileo. Who is to blame? But i must agree. Shagileo should have written it more easily understanding.

Well, if we go more into the issue Indyjones is using ripped off textures and models from COD2 while Shag & Manwhore are not.
Already this issue should show that it would be forbidden to release Indyjones map.

The other thing I would like to say is, is it realy so hard to make your own textures from photos or other images. It takes only 4 mins to make a seamless and tileless texture from image, but i guess Indy will never answer this question. Or what you think?

As far as i understood they toke it from the site EasyRider owns and they credited him. (i think they did not know you made it)
Correct me if i am wrong.

Easy made it, I’m head admin, you want to use our product, you ask permission, they didn’t and then added their name to it, (open notepad and change 1 word and call it a mod ?)
You steal from me and I’ll call you on it every time

But EasyRiders name was on there site. Yes, obviously permission has to be asked.
But let’s end this discussion. He saied he was sorry for it and he had removed it from his site. Everyone makes mistakes.

they did not ask, they stole it, the copyright symbol is there for that express reason
it’s good they removed it, I would have demanded it otherwise
it’s not a site we want to be associated with in any way

Wow I think I can count all usefull posts on one hand.
As has been said before, I think we all know where everybody stands now, so when the map comes out then just play the version you want. Then you will still be ‘boycotting’ the author of the map your not playing in a harmless way.

Anyway I would have to totally agree with slayer, that I don’t like the fact that people can’t come up with their own ideas anymore…
Just cause you didn’t decompile it doesn’t mean it’s ok to copy somebody elses idea…

you said “well look at goldrush and all it’s versions”, I guess since you haven’t been on the forum as long as some members you missed the topics on “not another goldrush”

And the fact that some people didn’t want the source of the W:ET maps to be released for the reason.

If you have your own idea…great.
If you convert a good map from another game…thats great too…i think thats a tribute to the original author , if they get the credit for it.
And having 2 new versions of Carentan will only make more players happy.

If i want to play Carentan, i’d play COD. If i want to play Goldrush, i’d play ET.

just because all modern not-et shooters are sh*tty, does not means that all the official maps made for them also :stuck_out_tongue:

converting a map from any fps (or even other genre) to et is really just bringing it to the right place xD!
