Cant obtain r_mode 6

when i first started ET i used to play with r_mode 6, because my desktop was r_mode 6 and it wouldnt start making stupid sounds and refreshing the screen everytime i moved from ET to my desktop

then a friend sent me a cfg which used r_mode 4, and i used that for a few months, i recently recieved a better cfg that uses r_mode 6 and now everytime i try and and play using r_mode 6 the screen has loads of lines and i cant see anything at all, crtl, alt and delete doesnt even show, but i know my pc and gfx card can handle r_mode 6 because i use it for my desktop

so can someone please tell me the solution because i cant seem to fix this problem

(r_mode 6 in ET for me is like when you put the mazimum resolution on ur PC monitor but it cant handle it, although i know mine can handle r_mode 6…it also works find with r_mode 5)

Look for r_displayrefresh in your config and change it to the same vertical frequency you use in windows, or to 60 (which most monitors can handle).

how do i find out what frequency i use in windows for it?

Control Panel/Display Settings/Advanced/Monitor.
On a modern monitor you can probably see it in the on-screen menu as well.

Did you find r_displayrefresh in the config, and what was it?

yeah thanks mate, i got it all working nice, 70 hrz on my desktop but can only use 60 in ET before it fucks up, ah well i got it working cheers
