Can't join Servers

(Geicher) #1

Hi,
a few minutes ago I decided to play a few rounds Brink and went ingame.
I received all the servers perfectly, but after I wanted to join a match, I couldn’t connect!
After a few seconds all the servers tell me “Zeitüberschreitung” in english this means “Connection Timeout”.
But I noticed, connecting to empty servers works perfectly o_O, but if even 1 person is in the server I’m not able to connect, because of the conection timeout.

I hope you guys here are able to help me with my problem!

Best regards
Geicher
:stroggtapir:

EDIT: I can connect to 8 Slot servers perfectly, even if there are 7 players in it!
Only 16 player servers are the problem o_OOOOO

I’m experiencing the same problem; I can’t join a single populated server. In my case, not even the 8-player ones.

I really hope so!
Sorry for my bad written english, I’m from germany.

(Verticae) #5

I just got done trying 47 servers, several of which I managed to connect to yesterday. No dice.

(Geicher) #6

In my case a few servers are working but most of them NOT.
Since when do you have the problem?
In the first days I got this game it has been working perfectly, the problems must have been occured in the last 1-3 days…

Please can you follow the advice in this post to ensure you have downloaded the DLC correctly.

(Geicher) #8

I tried that, without succes :frowning:
2 hours ago a buddy told me that he have exactly the same problem.
We both live in Bayern (Germany), and now I’m thinking this is not a problem with my PC…

Can you respond to the questions I asked in this thread: http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30355

Same problem. Crisby you’ll find lots of same threads ( and quotes in ), about the same problem; it’s not a occasionally problem, just search for google from may to today, and you’ll find lots of this same problem, so this is a bug of game that you have the duty to solve for us that bought your game ( that is good but too bugged ). Make assistance for that poor boy and don’t waste time in burocraties test…I’m sure you and brink’s staff know very well what is this bug.

I’ve the same problem:

i7 920 - 560ti sli ( tried not using sli ) - ecc…
Adsl Wholesale 4 mb/256 fastpath - Router sitecom wl-613.
I tried to open the brink’s ports and steam’s ports.

I cann’t join servers ( tried 30+ server, none joined, timed out… )

Waiting for a solution for this and all others bugs ( better solve bugs than producing dlc that people can’t play ).

The problem has become worse since the DLC. I always used to have problems connecting (“sending getinfo… timed out” - not depending on server port btw), but now with many more servers being populated it’s only 1 out of about 20 servers that works… :frowning:

Those questions are most likely asked to narrow down the source of the bug because they have trouble reproducing it themselves. Therefore any userdata is helpful.

I fully accept that this issue seems to be affecting a number of users, but we must separate out the causes to isolate the issues we are able to fix within the game from the issues that can be solved by advising the end-user.

(Geicher) #15

A few minutes ago i installed my own dedicated Brink server on my Windows Server 2008.
And … I can’t join to my own server

This is very very strange

(Connector) #16

Since this never ever happened before to me with an SD game, I’m suspecting the additional layer of Steam crap in between is somehow causing these problems…

And by the way, this is really fatal: Finally the servers are starting to become more crowded - and now this.

I was timing out joining servers last night (servers I had used the two nights ago). I quit the game and then steam downloaded an update. I started the game and still timed out to the same servers. I tried some other servers and eventually got in to a full game. The servers that timed out didn’t work at other points in the evening.

I also did the verify your game cache thing and it had no complaints.

Wow there are many people with that kind of problem o_O
Maybe it’ll help you when I’m posting my PC specs:

Intel Core i5 2500K
GTX 560 Ti
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64 Bit

All drivers are up to date!
