cant join any servers

Every time i try to join a server, the loading bar gets all the way across then it just stops. i dont get into the server. its not like the game freezes it just stops trying to get into the level.

HELP!!! :banghead:

i cant host a server, when i click on the “Host Server” button the game freezes and has to end. it freezes when i try to start up a server thru console too.

i reinstalled and it did nothing

It happened to me, u have dowloaded a bad file to ur ET main folder,once you get rid of the file ur host will work again.

do you remember which file it was, cause i dont want to go thru the trouble of having to download all those maps from those slow servers again.

Remember theres probably only one bad file so theres no need to delete them at all,the problem is finding the bad file.

Its a case of taking out all ur files from the ET main folder what u have downloaded and then try to host ,once you have got the host feature working again start adding your maps back a few at a time.Once u have added a few try hosting,if the hosting works you know the files what u put back in are ok ,just repeat this process untill the hosting stops working again.
Just remember what the new files u put back in are so when u try to host and it doesnt work u know it as to be one of the last batch of files you just added.

Or you could do it the opposite way and take a few files out of the ET main folder at a time and then trying to host,if the host doesnt work u know the bad file is still in ur ET main and the ones you have taken out are fine ,thats the way I did it.

You could ge lucky and find it quick ,then again.

It takes a while especially if you have alot of maps and map cycles in your main folder ,but its the only way I coud think of doing it,if any one knows of a better or faster way please let me know as I have had to do it twice now ,the first time was like finding the holy grail but the second time took me 5 minutes.

well its too late for that. i already did a completely fresh install, including deleting all the files associated with enemy terrtitory, before installing.

i can get into the host menu, but that doesnt do me any good

im about to quit ET cause theres really no point if i cant join any server. the load bar gets to the end and just sits there, and does nothing

its so fukin annoying trying to join game after game…

Not sure venom :frowning: ,you got a good PC with a good fan,my old PC used to do that very same thing with the load bar because it would get too hot due to the shit fan what was in it.
