Can't host a game!

A few of my friends and I are all having the same trouble. None of us can host a game for some reason. Anytime we click to do so, ET locks up and crashes.

The only reason we want to do so is to check out some of the maps we’ve downloaded so we can pick out some ones we’d think would be good for my customs server. Does anybody else have this problem? Better yet, does anybody know how to fix it?

It crashes on me 100% of the time… and I’m sorry for being a combination of too busy and lazy to search the forums for the problem. Any help is as always appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try getting rid of all the campaign PK3 files in etmain…they are usually the small ones (sub-10KB or so).

Yeah, and you should also get rid of all the maps you don’t want/need. This happened to me and I had to clean out a lot of custom maps.

Note that this applies to your server too. If you put too many .pk3s on it, things will start to break. It is not clear exactly how many is too many, or even if it is a fixed number.

i tried that also, i delted some pk3s then ET wouldnt start :o so i restored em

Yeah thanks it worked. I have my server hosted btw so I don’t have any uncessesary pk3’s in there… like I said I was just tryin to host so I could check which maps I liked to upload them and such.

I just deleted all the pk3’s under 10kb like HairyPlums suggested and it worked beautifully. Thanks!

Same thing happend to me, and i removed all the files :confused: Guess ET would rather eat shit then let me host a game
