I’m a long time etqw player, and been playing nightly for a few weeks now, and then last night & tonight, when I click online play I get an error “failed to connect to online servers”. I tried clicking on all the menu items and when i hit persistent stats or create new online profile I get same error message.
Any ideas ?
Tried a re-install, still same result.
It even fails when i try to create a new profile. And when it fails it is instantaneous, no waiting - click the go online button (top left of first screen), and instantly the error message pops up.
I want to test if its a networing issue… I didnt change any network settings or install any firewalls or anything, but is there a way i can prove it isnt networking issue ? (ie: what hostname / port is the masterserver ?)

Check permissions of firewall.

Plus from what he posted sounds like a specific denial for qw program.
Turned off windows firewall, still didnt work.
And as expected my windows firewall configuration that was working for 2+ years does have ETQW as an exception.
Anyone know the ip/port of the master server so I can try to hit that to see if I can get to it.

FIXED!!
I think the day that it started to fail I had done an update to AdAware (something I had not used for a very long time)… I noticed an extra service in the startup services / apps and removed that. As well as a bunch of others that crept in there, not 100% sure if it was adaware, but it works now! WOOT!!!
