I have forwarded ports 27015, 27016, & 8766. When I try to join an online game, I can pull the list of available servers, but when I click the connect button, nothing happens at all. If I try to make my own multiplayer game it will say “Please wait. Joining session.” and then return to the campaign selection screen without any error message.

No, not really close at all. I can’t ever connect to any games at all. It’s almost like an error with the UI. When I try to connect to a posted server, it’s like…the connect button just doesn’t work. Double-click, click connect, whatever. Nothing happens. If I try to enter a password locked server, it gives me the option to enter a password, then does nothing. If I try to post my own server, it tells me, “Please wait. Joining session.” and then returns to the original launch screen. No error message. No crash. Nothing.

crispy please address this problem, its unfair if we pay for a game and have no support or anyone giving us any information about what is happening.

by any chance when u try play through the steam server browser, does it work for you? because thats the only way i manage to play games and its annoying because i have to stay closing and opening the game to connect.

I don’t know what you mean by the steam server browser. Is that found through the Steam overlay (Shift-tab)?

no its found in the steam window itself, before you even load the game to open it just press View > servers then select the brink servers

I have the same problem. It’s like the UI is broken. It doesn’t do anything when I click connect or double-click a server. I try the Steam server browser and when I go to click on “Launch match on Invite,” it just boots me back to the main menu. I just reinstalled the game today and it still does the same thing. I’ve opened up the suggested ports on my router and everything. I don’t know what else to do…

I don’t think we will be screwed over but I’m not sure whether they’ve acknowledged this as a problem. (I can’t be sure and I’m probably talking ****)
Each time they’ve suggested opening ports, checking Firewall or connecting directly to a Modem. This shouldn’t really be a long term suggestion. We’ll see.

Ok so we i’ve tried different things.
connect through the steam server browser as suggested here is only starting the game, select character and stop at main menu !
Direct connect via console, we ended up with this message :
udp opensocket
wsaefault
it’s the only thing that appear into my friend’s console, the game still acting like nothing happens
all ports are forwarded, we’ve double check this after this message from the console.

Friend of mine has been getting it since release but it started working as normal as of Friday.
