Can't Connect to Any Online Games. PC

(Hanthy) #21

anything new ?

(Wepohn) #22

Yup, you just have to find your happy thought.

(Crispy) #23

Right now this doesn’t sound like a fault with the game. I’m going to drop this into the Dedicated Server forum where hopefully the community will be able to provide some food for thought.

(Hanthy) #24

Well thanks Crispy, i’m pretty sure it’s a game related issue since nothing happens when pushing the connect button (not even the connection window).

i’ll stay tuned.

(Deadwalking) #25

Have any of the users having this issue set any cvars via seta? The only thing that comes to mind is a cvar causing you not to be able to load in to the game.

There are many people that are able to connect to servers on PC in the West Coast US area. What locale are the users having the issue in, could it be a conflict with a different language version?

I am behind a router and run windows firewall, but I didnt have to port forward anything. Well except for allowing Brink thru Windows via the popup window when first firing up any game.

(Hanthy) #26

Well no, no cvar via seta !

we’re from Europe i’m playing the english version of the game, my friend is running it in french.
Gonna try with his game in english !

Thanks for the suggestions.

(Hanthy) #27

Ok so just tried, nothing new same issue as always.

I still really think it’s game related, i don’t see this being an “client to server” issue since he don’t even got the “connection window” (the one with the Abort button).

(Jalix) #28

Still same issue. Never even appears to try to connect to servers. I’m playing East Coast USA.

(Hanthy) #29

Still not solved here too !

Jalix what are you running on ? My friend is on XP Pro 64bit SP2.

(akornoway) #30

The patch released on Monday apparently ****ed up all the servers for a lot of people. I dont understand games these days man… where patches are ruining the game

(Jalix) #31

I’m on XP 64 as well.

(Hanthy) #32

Well if you’re on XP 64 too maybe this is the source of our issue.

Now it’s time for a dev answer about XP 64…

EDIT : And this topic need to be moved back to game support

(Hanthy) #33

Here is something that can help devs : http://www.sockets.com/err_lst1.htm#WSAEFAULT

(FoxiT) #34

it is clearly your net problem realated, try if u can to use wire connection instead of wireless one and turn off completly your firewall, both windows and also the one you have on the router/modem.

(Hanthy) #35

Thanks Foxit but all those things are done and double checked !
Usually the wsaefault is a memory allocation probleme, nothing related to net !

(Jalix) #36

Would love some help with this…

(Hanthy) #37

Me too Jalix !
It seems like all XP 64 users got this issue, we need SD to work on that !

(Jalix) #38

So close to getting irritated. I’ve been given the run-around for awhile now. I’m not the only one having this issue, and all that’s been done was sending a link to an unrelated issue and telling me that it isn’t a problem with the game and being shuffled off to some random corner. I just want to be able to play the game that I paid for.

(Hanthy) #39

IT IS irritating !

We need a fix, or at least clever dev answer…

(Jalix) #40

Bumpination.
