Cannot see or create games on single computer. Please help me...

:frowning:

Comp has worked fine all this time. Now, of course, it’s decided to stop being nice.

Creating a game on lan, on that computer is not visible to anyone else on lan.

There are no visible games on lan, for that computer either, when others can see the created game.

Not an issue with the firewall, disabling does nothing.
Not an issue with Anti-Virus, disabling does not a thing.

Can’t see why it wouldn’t work now. If you would help me, I would be eternally grateful… Not that that means much.

can you describe how you make that lan game?

I just use the standard ETQW server launcher. It’s named server launcher.

Can you do a direct connect? Open the console (ctrl-alt-~ by default) and type “connect ip address of the server”. In my case that is “connect 10.0.0.8” but for you it’s probably different. If start a server with server launcher I can’t see it in the game browser, but I can still connect and play on it.

Your next stumbling block might be punkbuster because the game comes with an outdated version. If you connect to your server without updating the server part of punkbuster, you’ll get a couple of warnings and eventually you’ll be kicked. Go to evenbalance site, download pbsetup and follow the instructions on that page. It’s pretty easy to do.

Hope this helps.

Try connect 127.0.0.1
That should enable you to connect to a local server.

Try a direct connect

Alright, using

connect (Internal IP)

, I am able to connect to the server fine.

Any reason for it? The problem is solved, but it would be nice to have others connect, and to connect normally.

Thank you, Susefreak, and DrFunkenstein.
