Can you take two of the same gun?
Carrying 2 different guns of the same type brings loads of disadvantages!
Hence why you never ever see a news report about war where soldiers carry 2 of the same type of gun. (unless they are working at supply depot)
Any soldier would rather have any other weapon or gadget enabling him into multitasking.
War is about adaptation when it comes to select your gear. Improvising is key to any survival situation.
The only reason why a person would carry 2 different weapons of same genre is if he has low ammo and the remaining ammo has different calibres.

dumb thread honestly
Really, your best argument is real warfare?

Also, whoy says that 2 different ARs or SMGs can’t be pretty different?

The main difference is that if a real soldier wanted to carry more ammo, he would just carry more ammo. If he wanted to be able to reload faster, he would get a Redi-Mag or something. In a game, you are limited to the confines of the game.

Besides, its not so much about weapon diversity as much as the fact that carrying another 5kg rifle would be pointless dead weight for a soldier. Same reason most soldiers only carry a rifle and a pistol, instead of…say…a rifle, a shotgun, and an SMG; even though it would certainly allow him to multi-task
