Well, it depends in the situation. If I do really poorly in a match and win/lose, I get frustrated and a bit annoyed of myself for sucking at the game (usually happens when I was trying to learn mercs i’m not good with). But when I am one of the best players, I have fun, no matter if I win of lose. My simple response is ‘gg.’ It is really fun because I’m playing on the sofa in front of my 42" TV (I think it’s 42 anyway). But I want a computer monitor, because I figure it is easier to aim and score more points. And plus, if the entire enemy team spawn camps, oh hell no that there is a way that i’m going to have fun!
Can you have fun and win at the same time?

That’s why I get super bitchy when a match is super unbalanced and usually the team that is winning refuses to vote to shuffle.
Well if your team is losing, make sure to quickly switch teams if the enemy team still have spots left.
I pretty much have fun winning, or losing. The outcome never bothers me, only how good the game was.
The only time I really get annoyed at a game is when we’re getting stomped and people drop out… making it 7v3 or something stupid (happened to me this morning) :c Other than that, nothing really bothers me ^.^
i always have fun as long as the match isnt completely loop sided and people are trying their best to win.
Not voting but I play for the objectives. As long as we’re doing that I don’t care if we win or lose the match.
But if we’re trying to complete the last objective on Trainyard and I have 2 Vassilli’s on my team my ass starts to twitch.
I can’t see any reason why you can’t have fun while winning and or losing, the issue is the players half the time. Because you can’t believe how they can’t figure this stuff out, like not having 3 people repairing at the same time, or someone who plants the bomb, RIGHT after you start planting, or guys who never give out ammo, or revive, or heal.
Look, I know this game seems hard, BUT IT REALLY ISN’T. If you’ve played battlefield or tf2 you can sure as hell play this.
Didn’t answer the poll simply because fun, to me, is about winning, but with a challenge.
Why attach fun to a win/lose condition ONLY? Sure winning is awesome, no one likes to lose. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t find a match fun even if you lost. To me, it all comes down to how fair a fight was, how intense and how much effort it required of my team to win.
Challenge is what makes games fun for me. Not just the state of winning. I mean, it’s pretty much like movies and anything that have some sort of challenge. Even life is like this. I much prefer to watch a movie where the good guys struggle throughout it and don’t win all the time than a shitty action movie where no one and nothing can stop the good guy.
That’s why I get super bitchy when a match is super unbalanced and usually the team that is winning refuses to vote to shuffle. Like, FFS is your self-confidence really that low that you have to crush noobs in order to feel good? Shuffle that shit and make it more of a challenge. Every single time, even when I’m on the team that is winning and I see it’s clearly unbalanced I will vote to shuffle, guess what happens? Vote failed and get called a whiny cunt.
Sometimes the community is to blame for a game’s condition. I’ll tell you hwat
Well said. The main thing to me is that everyone is trying to win, both teams, every single player.
I don’t mind losing as long as it wasn’t some guaranteed outcome from the fact that literally nobody on my team but me has the slightest idea of what to do.
On the flip side, if wins are too easy I tend to switch servers because shooting fish in a barrel isn’t fun either.
In the words of Martok son of Urthog, Chancellor of the Klingon Empire: “War is only fun when you’re winning!”
People that usually say, I’m not trying, I’m just having fun’ are trying harder than anyone else but just won’t admit they made a mistake in choosing a merc or admit that they have no idea what they are doing. One thing that makes me laugh is people that call you a ‘tryhard’. Well what else am I supposed to do? The game, even in open pubs is incredibly competitive (at least on occasion) so it’s always fun to try your best, work as a team.
Hahaha, so true. It’s only once you point out they’re bad or hurting the team that suddenly they aren’t trying, as if they literally don’t aim or think while playing.
Exactly lol. People like that usually play a class like phantom or vasili. Don’t really add anything to the team but they think they are l33t using them. A good vasili will help win any game but if they are useless and using him just because they want to do a ‘360-ladder-stall-noscope’ then they deserve to get dragged through a field of bullet ants.

On another note, winning is always fun, but the more you lose, the more fun you’ll have winning.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Dude! EXACTLY! That’s easily one of the funniest pictures I’ve ever seen relating to video game communities.
Of course you can have fun and win at the same time, people who say otherwise just say that as a bad excuse for being a crappy teamplayer (and winning IS fun, you´re pretty weird if you enjoy losing. I also find a lot of joy in helping out my teammates in various ways, but maybe that´s just me…). Even if you really like a certin merch, anyone can still find atleast one more merch that is some kind of support that they enjoy (especially when you become good with him/her).
And when you have two merchs two choose between, based on what does most for the team at the moment, it will already make a difference. Not everyone is a total-110%-no-compromise-teamplayer, but anyone can do at least something to help out the team and still have fun. Anything else is just bullshit.
you can have fun and winning.
you can have fun and losing.
fun is matter, good team and good enemy is matter.
because a couple times exp and credit i got from losing match is higher than winning team top.
my team did good, fun game. hue
losing against higher lv player and gave them hard time, fun game.
mostly play on open pub.
dunno about competitive, can’t get one on asia T_T
More specifically, playing to win and doing all that I can come up with to achieve victory is where most of the fun comes from.
For me playing is fun. The closer the game (win vs lose) the better. Actually, as long as my team isn’t being ROFLstomped its fun.
There is no fun allowed.
Go finger paint, or play with legos if you want fun.
Video games are serious stuff.
