Can we stop getting useless Loadouts?

(activeClip) #1

Most of the time only one load out card is optimal and rarely two, can we do something about this please? I take a look at the Phantom Bronze Cards on Store and the trend continues strong.

Optimal is generally a matter of opinion. People may have different playstyles.

While I agree some cards are fairly useless, others may surprise you with an interesting combination(at least in a pub it might :))

While I agree with you to an extent it’s pretty hard to argue that something like this is not the best melee card for Phantom with both the katana, longer cloak and chopper…

I dont really agree, when a weapon is hands down better then the other on hand and also comes with great perks then theres nothing really to decide. The only times i see perks maybe chosen over weapon would be in competitive with Aura and probably an engineer.

I agree though a few extra cards are fun in pubs and have a whole diff playstyle, but in competitive its mostly pick this card or be at an disadvantage.

That wouldn’t change even if the best augments were included with the best guns. Everyone would simply use that for competitive play. At least now they have to choose between the Kek10 and Crotzni and if they want a Katana or not.

I consider myself pretty knowledgeable in regards to the weapons/augments/mechanics of this game and I was having a hard time picking out the “best” loadout for Phantom. Which means there are still a few cards that aren’t very good but there are also a few good choices based on what you want to do and if you like the Kek10 or Crotzni. I do wish focus/drilled/similar were bundled with the Kek10 or Crotzni instead of the Blish but I understand why they aren’t.

(humaneCushion) #6

I wish they’d go with separate cards for perks and weapons at least.

Biggest gripe though has to be the way weapons and abilities are mixed.
There rarely seems to be any rhyme of reason for specific weapons and perk combinations.

I have that card and honestly id much prefer the Blishlok loadout with undercover, drilled ,untrackable and the katana cause it seems to suit me better

And personally I think the crotzni and kek-10 are crap so that could be another reason

(GildedDark) #8

@Amerika there is a Blishlok loadout with the katana

(activeClip) #9

Do you consider yourself a good player though? Cause from what 9/10 know and say the Crotzni is the best weapon on Sawbonez hands down and it even comes with best perks.

It is said the kek10 is by far the strongest SMG in the game and the Bishlok is by far the weakest?

If you dont consider yourself to be a top tier player at least with fragging then your problem could be as simple as weapon choice alone, going back to my argument on how shit the majority of the loadouts are.

(RuleofBooKz) #10

i prefer the crotzni over the kek-10. might be cause i play sawbones and he has the crotzni so its easier to cross between mercs without having to readjust to a new weapon? But yeah optimal is up for opinion but id agree there are some useless loadouts the the useful ones might be more than one or two

(triteTongs) #11

I was doing just fine with a bishlock bushwacker. I thought I would hate it, since my friend uses the kek but I actually prefer it more.

The SMGs variety feel pretty balanced.

Useless filler junk goes hand in hand with RNG systems, no point in having RNG to try to extend the life of the game if all you could get from it would be good/top notch or wanted.

(activeClip) #14

Which is exactly the point, why have useless filler cards to suit RNG? Why not have actual viable options so theres multiple ways to build a Merc and not just the 1 and sometimes 2 optimal?

The 172 loadout card allows extra supplies or faster (heal), sprint while reloading and 35% increased iron sight speed on top of that the Mp400 allows you to run/sprint/strafe much faster. So this is actually a very fun run and gun style pub stomper loadout where you can have a lot of fun.

But in competitive theres no denying the optimal card is 383, 25% faster revive gun, 50% more hp on revive, and extra supplies or faster, that with the Empire-9 being the better SMG for Sparks theres no denying 100% this is best loadout possible for Competitive play.

Now when you look at the other Mercs, most of the loadouts are gimped and make you far worse off, even though majority of the time there will be only one card for Competitive.

Before i get too far off topic the point is, loadout cards could be designed to have different play styles for the merc and different meta. The problem is most of the time its just a case of RNGing the only one card useful, i would rather see viable options.

Its just hard to fathom when your denying the best SMGs in the game for the worst.

Sometime the how the weapon ‘‘feel’’ is a big factor for a player.

(frzn) #18

I just got the phantom loadout with double time, big ears, bomb squad, combat knife, and crotzini. The game have just cut to the chase and given me a note that says, “screw you <3”

Agreed.

I love the feel of the SMG-9 but the Kek just seems uncomfortable when I use it. Something just seems off and I can’t pinpoint it to any one factor.
