Seeing how easy it is to counter an airstrike now I would say that’s just fair.
The reason i never i play him is because of the long ass cooldown. I much prefer Arty in that class.
Some of the earlier characters are long overdue for a buff of some kind. Eventhough mercs like Rhino and Skyhammar are powerful in their own regard they do deserve some buff to keep up with the other mercs.
But if skyhammar gets too much of a buff his damage to evs would have to be lowered, because knowing SD they wouldnt want having skyhammar stacking beign a viable strategy on ev maps.
Now this idea is gonna get people mad but what if his default time for calling in an airstrike was made slightly longer, persay 1:10 seconds, but direct impacts with ammo packs on team mates lower the current recharge by say 5 seconds. invertedly teaching Skyhammars to actively give out ammo and, to a degree, tackle the time issue.

I’d just use a rotation of 3 Skyhammers feeding my Nader ammo so I can use my launcher indefinitely. Nobody would be mad, right? B) Yeah though, Skyhammer definitely deserves some sort of buff.

i moreso meant that skyhammars cooldown gets 5 seconds off, instead of the target for the ammo
I’d like something interesting happen to him. Maybe make it so that everytime you direct hit ammo pack somebody else you get some cooldown reduction yourself? But i’d take boring decrease of cooldown as well.

thats what i was after, personally adding a more skill based ‘buff’ to him would make it almost more interesting and make loadouts with extra supplies // the thingy that reduces ammo pack recharge time much more valuable to have

with that said that reminds me of another gripe i have, Kira Arty and skyhammar all pretty much have the same job and role (kira has a slightly different use, in certain situations).
Personally id love to see a slight rework on those three guys just to make them feel slightly more unique, nothing like “the phantom rework”. No idea how they could differentiate them but im just an idea guy aha
I actually like him quite a bit. He’s fun to play, even if he isn’t the best atm.
Maybe if SD increased his speed slightly, and made direct ammo pack hits reduce your cooldown as well as other people’s it would be better.
I don’t think he needs a major buff, just some tweaking.

well, they nerfed skyhammer because most of the players back in the days were under level 10 and can barely play like they did right now.
stoker was rebuffed, phantom now got EMP, Aura was rebalanced, Thunder somewhat in sweet spot right now.
also, who wouldnt like it if the most noob friendly in the game got buffed.

And the most lovely, really.
He is my most played merc by far and it’s just so visible that he fell behind with all those new toys and buffs. His airstrike is absolute overkill with too long cooldown. And to be honest i rarely see any kills with this thing unless i’m on a 7v7 pub. Also a big fan of the fact that he can do something in doors but the marker takes so long to explode that you can rarely use that thing. 100 damage explosion is nothing to complain about but it’s just so clunky.
Or you just used an airstrike so you can’t even use those clunky grenade for 70 seconds.

dat time where it lands where the laser is a bit exposed to the outdoors and it waste you a minute wait just because you want to help your team indoor

When your team is playing mostly sniper or medic and your the only one on your team that isnt brain dead. That 60 second coold down they will be half way down the map

Implying Skyhammers even have their E key bound.
I think he needs something. Speed, shorter cool down, something. Being able to use the marker inside is nice but seems to be a little lacking in punch. Also hate when the marker goes under the ev and it registers as an inside grenade. At least the cool down is shorter but it’s truly annoying.

Especially when you feel like “this is the perfect spot for my marker. Kiss that EV goodbye!” and then - thump.
