Of course it can, the real question is can it top RTCW? :wink:

Seriously though, most gamers are allergic to change when they’ve found a game they really like, so there will be the same debate that we have now with ET vs RTCW. Some of us will love it, some will hate it, and only time will tell if it becomes more popular.

I’m willing to bet one thing though: being a commercial game it will (after some official patches) be much more solid than etmain is.

I vote option 4: “How do we know it ain’t here yet”.

However, the one thing that you can absolutely, positively guarantee is that it will be different from RTCW1. Which means to some people it will be different in a way they approve of, to others it will be different in a way they don’t approve of, like ET is different in a way a lot of hardcore RTCW players don’t approve of.

I don’t even want to speculate as it what it will be like and therefore couldn’t say whether it will be bigger than ET. It depends on who’s making it and what their design goal (beyond making lots of money) is.

hey im looking forward to it, basically we have a full year or ET to play then RTCW2 will come out, probably when we are getting a little tired of ET… we will all rejoice at having a new wolfy to play

I’ll look forward to RtCW2 as long as they keep the MP part alive.

As yet Half Life has no MP side except co-operative play, which with the best will in the world against AI, is not the same. Shame that.

Well, HL2 will have loads of MP but you will have to pay for it i suspect, all those big mods that they ended up buying outright, Day Of Defeat, Counterstrike n all that
