Can me playing ETQW give me advance in Brink?

(xTriXxy) #1

i wil start this as thread.
i have one question guys, im not playing etqw anymore, i dont play any games at the moment, but… month before brink release i will start to play ETQW again as practice before brink. do you think that learned, or imported skills from ETQW can be useful in Brink, or Brink will need new gaming habit, style?

ps. sorry for engrish thread name  i feel so stupid lol after i saw what came from my head:)

I think it will be a complete new gameplay style.
But in my opinion, playing ETQW before the release of Brink is the most useful thing you can do.
(Playing other lowskilled games like CoD for exapmle, which don’t require aiming skills won’t help you in Brink)

(Ashog) #3

You need to practice being teabagged, because when Brink starts, it will happen to you quite often, as I anticipate.

(Diablo85) #4

The aiming style seems more like COD. So I’d practice there if I where you.

(Rex) #5

If you were me, you wouldn’t play **** games.

(AnthonyDa) #6

Well BRINK seems closer to COD than ETQW to me too…

(Dthy) #7

Only one way to find out what it’s more like when playing. We have to play the waiting game…

only alphabetically

When etqw first came out, a lot of players tried to play it as if it was W:ET. Most of them didnt do to well. They weren’t willing to adjust to the things that were unique to ETQW. And the same thing will happen in Brink. Thats not to say there aren’t mechanics that crossover, or there aren’t values that crossover.

It means, that if you want to be good at any game… find the things that are unique to that game alone and focus on being good at that first. When Brink comes out, go out of your way to find the fastest routes to the objective using smart. Learn how to chain all the jumps and slides to get where you want to go. All the other stuff that is similar or the same with etqw, you dont need to relearn.

(Nail) #10

I’m pretty sure Brink will play alot like W:ET, I never got into ET:QW because my LAN mates didn’t like vehicles, but i see the similarities in gameplay. I’d say playing either game will help you in aiming at the very least

(AnthonyDa) #11

I’m pretty sure you have no idea about what you are talking about Nail.

Did you see any ingame footage ? Sounds like no.

(Slade05) #12

Many who saw ETQW footage still thought it will be like BF2, remember?
Back then, understanding objective based specifics helped, not to win, but to understand where important action is. Those who did not had to learn(with teabagging!) or ended up on that hill with a sniper rifle.

(Diablo85) #13

Who says I play COD? I actually don’t like the game at all. Mainly because of the aiming style and the fast way you die. Just saying that the aiming style in Brink seems a bit similar to COD.

Play some black ops on normal deathmatch mode to get your aim in shape. S&D for situational awareness.
And you’re set.

black ops? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

i have played both w:et and etqw for many years and i would say etqw was very similiar to w:et in shooting style, gameplay and speed except for vehicles and even tho brink is also the same type of gamestyle with objective based gameplay and different classes to support the team to complete objectives when this game comes to movement speed and shooting style i think its closer to CoD than w:et and etqw so for getting your aim upto scratch i would go for cod4 but i havent played brink so what do i know plus cod probably has more spread and you need to use the iron sight more than what you should need in brink.

for me i will play a mix of cod due to the keyboard controls and gameplay speed but will also play some etqw becuase i love it.

atm tho im addicted to league of legends :frowning:

Your either good or not. And it translates to any game.

This Brink game looks fail, I foresee more Nerf.
And whats with all jumping and sliding? >>Laugh

exactly…

(Ecano) #20

Black ops is boring and doesn’t help getting aim. IMO the tendence of Techart is to get a more flat game in with all people frags, each parch that they’ve delivered has been to get a worst skilled game.

I played it for two moths, now come back to ETQW. :oppressor:
