Campaign to save brink

(sanDIOkan) #1

PLAYERS NUMBER IS GONNA DROP AGAIN. EVERYBODY KNOWS IT.

During the free week, brink was one of most 10 played games.
To save this game i can suggest a commercial move:

Downloadable BRINK for free and pay DLC.
In one of next DLC, put the SDK.

I think beth could make more money in this way that let the game slowly die or spend more money to advertise this product.

Join the campaign!!! BRINK FREE, PAY DLC!

Brink’s free weekend was only that populated because 2 days isn’t enough to realise that the game isn’t in much of a playable condition on PC right now. I’d really like the game to be successful, but it’ll need some fixing up for that… And personally, I’d prefer to see SD working on a new -hopefully non-BethSoft- title.

(light_sh4v0r) #3

That would be a very bad move. I paid €45,- for this game 2 months ago, releasing it for free now would really piss me off, considering I still even can’t play the game at proper FPS (ATI take note.)

(Kurushi) #4

@OP It wouldn’t work/never going to happen. People are still prepared to buy Brink, even more so with continued support.

and @verticae what is your idea of playable because there are thousands of people on ATI playing Brink fine

(pinion120) #5

The OP has started multiple threads basically whining to no point. He’s trolling.

Free weekend is over, Brink still has thousands of players and was #4 on Steam Top Sellers during the weekend. /thread

(Smoochy) #6

but wouldnt you like a larger community?

to the above guy: PC isnt that bad at all really. the F issue can be a pain but generally the game is loadsa fun. much better than BC2 or black flops

i actually agree with this. the more the merrier. the game is only £10 now anyway.

SDK would make this game awesome. so many good mappers out there and im sure someone could patch in a bind to separate buff and revive etc?

(Kurushi) #8

Reduced prices + free content is the way to bring people in. When people see regular free content and a lower price they feel they’re buying into something. Doing it the other way around just puts people off from the start imo

(.Chris.) #9

I’m pretty sure it was talking more about the actual broken game mechanics rather than performance issues although they are a factor for many.

(Kurushi) #10

I’m still to experience these broken game mechanics. Lacking features maybe but nothing was ever game breaking

(rushzone.com) #11

Unless the devs actually start to listen and stop hiding away, take on the feedback then maybe people might play brink.
Right now there are way too many issues, I certainly don’t think I got full value for money.

c’mon, they are listening and fixing and you know it… everyone has their own priorities of fixes and so do SD. I see it as them working backwards; they are fixing what can be fixed easily before they start breaking things, regardless if they’re on the top of everyone’s list

(BROTOX) #13

Don’t be ridiculous cousin larry. (Directed @ OP btw)

(coolstory) #14

You don’t think the autopilot F key is broken? Not to mention the gun play which is so random and hardly requires skill.

(Nexolate) #15

Neither of which are “broken”, they are simply design decisions.
Perhaps the logic for the Use Key could be made a bit more efficient, but other than that it works.

Its broken when the F doesn’t do what I want it to do. And that happens a lot…trying to revive someone but instead buffs a healthy person. Or taking a while to get the lock on someone while getting shot at. Poor decisions making SD. Idk why they changed it from their previous games.

(Wildkarrde) #17

Look the games as good as it’s going to get. Just wait for the inevitable “we’ve learned lessons from Brink and our next game will be better…Honest” From Splash Damage.

(sanDIOkan) #18

they already said it with quake wars
what lesson did they learn?

(light_sh4v0r) #19

ETQW was awesome so if this is the result of the lessons they took from ETQW something must’ve gone wrong along the road.

Never said they would mean it.
