Honestly, any of you who don’t think that Brink will be in the same position as it was pre-free weekend numbers-wise (i.e. 500 max players) in 2-3 weeks from now are just kidding yourselves.
Campaign to save brink
It’s already in a better and more playable position than it was, no going back now. Muwaha:tongue:
Even if Splash Damage changed all the stuff the community is currently whining about - there won’t ever be that many more players playing it than there are now, because of a simple reason:
Brink does not allow the average Joe to dick around hours on end killing random players on the opposing team and feel great. It’s just not made that way. It’s a complex and involved team-based shooter and in my experience, most people just don’t want to invest that much thought to really grok the game. Look at any wildly successful shooter out there and you will recognize that the same modes and the same maps are played over and over again and no-one really cares about depth as long as they can rack up kills and consider themselves pro.
What some people on here seem to be suggesting could make the game that little bit more interesting to some of us but by and large the majority of player’s won’t bother because the game requires more attention and is less satisfying for lone-wolfs than most others.
I for one enjoy it very much, but then again I got my 5+ buddies and our own server and I don’t have to bother with most of the stuff people complain about.

Finally. Someone with some effing sense around here
It’s just the way it is. They’re the games SD make. Respect
Perhaps they should offer the PC guys a trade in for a console version? I mean, it is MUCH better on the console I think, and they probably should have only made it for that system anyways.
Excellent explanation that pretty much explains all design decisions made when making this game.
I wouldn’t trade my copy in for a console version. I greatly prefer M/K input over controllers.
The following comment may have had a tiny dose of personal preference, do not be offended.

I understand Brink is the very first team-based game you’ve played, and good for you! It really isn’t that horrible of a game. However, your entire statement is proven false by the fact that even CounterStrike on public servers uses more teamwork than Brink in its current state. Pressing F the moment you see a teammate is not teamwork, it’s pressing F.
If you like the idea of a game having tactical depth though, by all means, go play Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.
nah, SD is a pc company foremost so it would be daft to do that.
IMO FPS is terrible on consoles anyway (my opinion and preference)
to me the only issue is the F lock button, which is the same on both.
at least on PC my game looks great. average 80fps all eye candy on and highest quality settings.
Brink has gotten insane how many people are playing on Xbox. The DLC has amped things up times a hundred.
