Callvote to kick team killers should be improved.

Ok, 1st of all, great game. I get hours of great gameplay on it. But one thing I have seen, and im shure most of you have, is that at times, you will get some dissident player on your team who thinks it’s fun to kill you all by any means he can find. Usually flamethrower. And yes, with enough complaints against the guy he will get kicked, but not before the enemy gets a chance to advance more while your teammates who could be on defence/offence have to wait in limbo mode and fume.

And of course someone on your team /callvotes kick him, but that doesnt seem to work most of the time, as the other team doesnt seem to care or understand why we want him removed from the game. I mean, in the other teams minds, they have an extra player who is decimating their opponents from the inside so why should they vote to kick him?

If the callvote kick player system was changed a bit, so that if a team votes to remove a player, I think it should be that team only who called the vote be allowed to vote on it. Something like a /callTEAMvote kick ect…

It’s just a thought… tell me what you think. It is very annoying to have a tk’r on your team, and shooting him dead in frustration usually gets you a complaint from him, and why should you lose exp because of some unruly teammate. At least, thats my 2 cents. =)

Good idea. I also think voting in any case should be changed a bit. Firstly, majority rules no matter what. Secondly, if you don’t vote then your would-be vote is null (too often people will not even bother to vote and it seems to count as a No). Hopefully that would remedy the problem of the opposing team intentionally voting down certain things that would be detrimental to their victory.

If playing on a PB-enabled server you can also attempt a pb_kick. At default, I think it would require ten people to kick though. Servers may have this set to different values however. Just a thought.

The server I play on requires 70 pb_power points to kick someone. Everyone has at least 10 pb_power points, and the admins assign the ‘regular’ players 30. This allows a mere three ‘regulars’ to kick a TKer or other knucklehead. The admins, of course, can kick on their own.

tbh hit ESC and look at the options, go to view server info and look for a line “IRC” or something, then load up mIRC and connect to that channel to get an admin. Pain in the rear but mr tk-lamer will probably end up banned pernemanetly (if there’s an admin around anyway).

pb player power is a nice idea but needs to have the server setup require less people to kick the player, and even then youre lucky if more than 1 other person has a clue what it is. the “deputy” thing is a nice idea but tbh you might aswell just give your “deputies” rcon and have them as proper admins… also i read somewhere that the power “deputies” arent being remembered.

one thing im not sure on, is the complaint/callvote kick connected with PB now? ive seen a couple of players be kicked then repeatedly have them connected->disconnected in the console…

Great idea, we need it. On a related note, maybe a kick-vote should factor the complaints in which the player has already been given.
So if you vote to kick a clean player, it would take far more YES votes, than if you vote a player who already has lots of complaints for TKing.

I was playing on a pub server and our whole team got terribly TK’ed over three maps. Every time we would kick the sucker the player would re-login stealing one of the names of our teammates. They should make it so no “like” names can log on at the same time, and have some sort of way so that when you kick someone they can’t log in for like a couple of hours or so.

Another thought, make it when players spawn in they are able to run through each other, so one guy can block up the whole team in the spawn point.

I am seriously looking for a passworded/private server to play on, I really want to enjoy this game but the munchkin tactics and TKing really make it difficult.

Or add MirrorDamage in %, so when he hurts a teammate he gets hurt aswell, the best is to set MirrorDamage atleast at 50%.
So when he starts fireing on his teammates he will die before they die and TK wont be “fun” anymore.
