GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

and this is what I have: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64

Anyone know the problem Im having? I went to download some of those updates from NVIDIA but Im not sure which one to get and if it will fix my problem.

Delete etconfig.cfg from etmain/profiles/YOURNAME/ as well as any mod folders like etpro, shrub, shrubet, etc. That will reset everything to defaults and should detect the proper settings for your box. You will then have to reset your name, connection speed, re-enable PB, etc. You should create autoexec.cfg in etmain/ and put all those things in it so you won’t have to reset your preferences if you ever need to do this again.

dont delete that, “could not load OpenGL subsystem” often indicates that Direct X isnt or isnt proper installed. Dowload it at http://www.microsoft.com/directx
You could also try to download the drivers of your graphicscard, at your manufacturers website.

“calling LoadLibrary( ‘C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\3dfxvgl.dll’ ): failed”

Ok that’s my problem now. I searched last night online to fix my other problem and I did after messing with Direct X and downloading a Glide2x.dll file. So now that Load Library message is the one Im getting. I was searching for somewhere to download that 3dfxvgl.dll file, but I couldnt find anywhere. Will this fix my problem once I get one and/or where can i download it from?

Computertech: I was able to play Half Life:Counter-Strike, so why wouldnt it be able to support the graphics for Wolfenstein? Does Half Life:Counterstrike require less power?

There seems to be some confusion here–you indicate in your original post that you have an “NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64”, yet you are trying to use Glide, which is 3dfx-specific.

You should NOT be installing anything that says “3dfx” or “glide”

Try going here:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

and downloading nVidia’s unified drivers (pick Graphics driver, Geforce and TNT2, and then your operating system).

Not sure about your system config, but it sounds like your drivers are pretty messed up :eek3:

that did the trick, thanks.

Damn, posted that solution ages ago  Glad that it works.
