Why does this thing have more health than a player with ~100 health and deals more DPS with a higher firerate than any AR/SMG in the game?
If I start shooting one before it shoots me, I always die before the turret as Sawbonez with my Crotzni. Balance?
Bushwackers turret
Because it is stationary and cannot think… try flanking it. If you can not flank try explosives.
pop out shoot it a few times pop in take 0 damage pop out and finish turret dead and you just took 0 damage
Turret is one of the only things that so far have offered no challenge to me tbh.
It don’t need to think. It has 0 recoil and an aimbot. That thing should not be able to deal headshots. It aims for the head most of the time. It’s so incredibly frustrating to get insta-headshotted by some lame-arse turret because they’re way too strong for an “ability”
In all my experiences the turret has always warmed up before firing at me allowing me to strafe shoot it quite easily.
I don’t have an issue with it. It’s meant to deny approach to an area from one angle and is more annoying than anything. I’m used to TF2 sentries and engies, though.

It actually aims for the body, not the head. It only gets headshots when that is the only visible body part or if somebody crouches while it is firing at them.
I liked that it’s pretty deadly to try and just rush at head on since that’s the whole point of using it to defend a flank. It’s then on you to get around it or spend the time doing what others have said and either strafe fire/shoot from cover/use explosives. If it catches you off guard and you die fast, yeah it can be frustrating - but not enough to consider it too strong imo.
Honestly, the stronger part about it IMHO is that it tells the bushwhacker that a player is near where you put it. This instantly puts them on their guard and heading over to stop whatever sneak/push/rush was happening.
It is imbalanced. People should be able to react to the turret. If it’s placed in a corner and you don’t see it even half a second before it sees you, you’re dead. And you can’t do anything to prevent this. Nothing. That thing shouldn’t be better than a camping player, but it is. It either deals too much damage or is way too precise.
It is very avoidable and beatable imho. I play bushwhacker a lot and my turret goes down very often after having done little to no work. It is only during a big fight or a critical moment unmolested that it seems to be extremely effective.
Anyone who says its unbalancedunbalanced obviously isn’t thinking before they peak corners and are just running out like headless chickens like 99% of public players.
As a competitive player I put my turret out of sight on sharp corners so it can hit a few times at least, I mean when you have a perk which makes it react 30% quicker it becomes super deadly.
Turrets punish those that mindlessly run into and stay in the open. They deal low per bullet damage but have a high firerate.
They are a nuisance at most for those that now how to deal with them (listen for the sound, play peak a boo, flank them, kill them before they finish deploying, stay out of their range, explosives).
Obviously the job of a bushwhacker is to place his turret in a fashion that it makes it harder for you to apply any of this.
Because this is fair. Why don’t every merc has an ability that makes his DPS 30% more dearly or makes them seeing enemies 30% before they are visible?

All it does is acquire a target 30% faster. Proxy gets this with her mines as well.
Then there are mercs that get a 30% delay to enemy deployables locking on/activating. It does swing both ways.
@laudatoryLunch It feels like you are trying to make an argument without considering this objectively.

Very much so. I demand rocket-turrets and mortars!

I thought that was the point of the internets?
At least you can flank it, coming from TF2 - those sentries are a nightmare if there’s more than one, the buggers rotate on a 360 degree axis.
Check again there is no such perk for Proxy.
As for that matter Proxy’s mines are a lot weaker than the turret, I’ve played Proxy a lot and seen a lot of people just run through the mines without killing them. Mines are a lot easier to avoid and can hardly kill anyone except the low hp mercs other just run across them and surviving.
Also if the enemy team has 2 or 3 bushwacker the turrets are everywhere impossible to flank.
