The ability to move more freely than any other recent game makes it special. Removing bunny hopping and wall jumps would kill the spirit of the game itself.
Rubbish… having morons perma-jumping right across the entire map is stupid…
Currently its more or less “who has the fastest merc and can press space fastest”.
Nonsense, bunny hopping is a game strategy that only a select can achieve perfectly .
The bunny hopping only gives you a better target practice.
Stop whining and shoot them! Its called Aiming for a reason:l
Exp bunny hopper
Welcome to FPSes, where you’ll be called a “scrub” for not using cheap tactics like bunnyhopping and then complaining about it.
I completely agree that bunnyhopping needs to die in a fire, but I don’t think there’s any way to implement a system against it without adversely affecting gameplay. A stamina system would either be pointless on the lighter classes or make them basically worthless (As well as making heavy classes unbearable to move with), and a limit on sequential jumps would impact the wall jump designs.
there is no bunnyhopping in DB. Bunnyhopping was a quake-engines trickjump strategy wherein each consecutive jump would add speed to the players movement.
What you are referring too is either people jumping a lot or jumping + walljumping. Either one of these will decrease your accuracy significantly, and while not as punitive as say, W:ET, it is not a viable strategy to engage enemies. Its mostly useful when trying to get through areas under enemy fire, but if you try to engage enemies and jump like crazy you’ll get mowed down.

uh no. u are so wrong. in real combat im pretty sure i didnt hop all over when i was getting shot at. bunny hopping is something that shouldnt be in a fps unless you got jetpacks like tribes.

yeah some idiot like you would defend it. you arent select you arent special. youre just someone who uses a cheap tactic because you cant fight legit.
played a short session, every match had 1-2 of these on the other team with shotguns just derping around and making it pretty impossible to headshot.
Hopping as well as crouching and strafing are mechanisms that can be used to aid you in warfare. One of the best ways to stay alive is…well…to not get shot. Hopping is a way to ensure that you are capable of doing just that. It is not really something to complain about, just learn to do so. With practice, you will get better at shooting “kangaroos”.
Good luck mate!
There is nothing wrong with jumping. As stated, it destroys your accuracy and actually makes it very difficult to get a shot off.
The jumping in this game is primarily used as a method of getting around the map, there are many really cool hidden locations to find for either sniping or quick travel through the areas to get behind the enemy.
A stamina system renders several classes that currently -rely- on movement unplayable. Example 1: Proxy
Proxy cannot take a straight up hit. She falls from one shotgun shot, two-three rifle shots, etc. Remove her ability to sprint indefinitely? she is then incredibly disadvantaged.
I have seen plenty of ‘jumpers’ who ‘bunnyhop’ they mount up as easy kills for me. Your saying its a problem you cannot headshot them. Okay, have you considered…body shots?
The running system is fine as it is. Movement is a key point to dirty bomb so players cannot simply ‘know all the spots’ to shoot at like in counter strike.
Also, it gives you no momentum. Actually if you do a long jump (a technique which requires you to jump and crouch at the same time while sprinting) you are given a short penalty where your movement is hampered for a little while.
Bunny-hopping in the old sense is where players abused a system to gain momentum and therefore become crazy fast. That doesn’t work here.
At the end of the day its not a problem.
only time bunny hopping is effective is when you’re playing sniper and using it to peak. side to side movement is so much more effective for dodging…
When I think of a stamina system I think of the stamina system in CS:GO where in you do an X amount of jumps and then after that your jumps become much slower and weaker… I wouldn’t want it to effect sprinting in any way but just jumps and that’d make it a lot better and wouldn’t hinder the movement of lighter classes such as proxy and aura etc because hopping around is a very potent dodging device.
To further explain on why hopping is such a great dodging tool it is because most machine gun classes rely on headshots for their extra damage comparing to shogun classes which it doesn’t matter where you hit them so therefore by hopping around you’re eliminating 95% of the chance to get headshotted while still keeping on par damage wise as you’re not headshotting anyways… this stamina system would help out a huge amount as it’d reduce the amount of hopping but in turn increase the amount of skillful ADADAD strafing.
Just some thoughts, I’ve only played for about 5 hours but I am loving it.
Bhopping isnt that bad in dirty bomb, the whole point of the game is that it’s fast paced and hectic. the hopping doesn’t work like it did in the old cs games where you could gain loads of speed by jumping everywhere. Wall jumping in this game is awesome and sets it apart from lots of shooters. Sounds like you are just hurt because you cant hit moving targets.

idiot? we all post our beliefs , and i very much believe that my bunny hopping can whoop you anyday;)
if it wasnt for me and another thousand fellow tacticians who fought for our gaming right to be able to bunny hop it would have been stripped from combat arms

Beautiful. There is nothing wrong with bunny hopping, some people are butthurt because they cant hit people who are moving. Combat Arms, those were the days…
There are some people above talking about “jumping” or “walljumping”… this is NOT the same as bunnyhopping…
Yes, I can hit them, but it’s fking stupid to have 4 or 5 enemy perma-jumping across the entire map “carrying bombs”.
And no… it’s not a “pro-tactic”… it’s sh!t.
