Bullet Tracers....

(_NeT_WalBanger) #1

Hi
Just wondering if you can change the length/thickness of the tracers behind the bullets to make it easier to see where they are going

whats the commands plz

Edit:
P.S Need it in REAL games not just demos or what ever

cg_railTrailTime is the most important. It tells ET how long trails should stay (in msec). Set it to something high like 6000.

There are also the cvars r_railWidth, r_railCoreWidth and r_railSegmentLength but I dont know excactly what they do. From a guess I would say they control the appearence of the trails.

I think you can with cheats enabled. Try cvarlist trace

However, the tracers don’t correspond to where the bullets went, so even if you could do it online, it would be of somewhat limited value.

edit:
the railtrail stuff is for g_debugbullets, not normal tracers.

side note:
tracers are misses, you only see them on shots that miss, hits do not leave tracer lines

Hmmmmmmm… they doont seem to make any difference…

thanks anyway…

anymore ideas?

:o REALLY?
didnt know that

(*****thinks maybe thats why im having difficulty seeing them, cause there are none ;))

Those are left over from Q3, they effect the look of the railgun shot. There’s a cvar that effects tracers, but it’s cheat protected… cant remember it off the top of my head.

/g_debugbullets 7
/cg_railtrailtime <something high>

that is becaus tracers are spawn by bullet impact code …
It is nonsense to make bullets same way like missiles…
