bug: Sudden change of mouse sensitivy

(squadjot) #1

Hey folks

Im trying to investigate this odd bug.

description:
Suddently in the middle of a game my mouse sensitivty changes , to much more sensitive (the values in console are still the same) it just changes and feels much faster, wich is very annoying… the only fix is to shutdown game and restart it.
It can happen during a game…but tends to happen more frequently after a mapload.
i have a mx510 - mouseware 9.80 and ive added enemyterritory to registry/gamingcompabilty, like this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Logitech\MouseWare\CurrentVersion\GamingCompatibility]
"EnemyTerritory"="ET.exe"

it has never happened before 3.20 OR later etpro versions.

what i want to know is…does anyone experience this also…and more important to know…does this only happen in etpro? … (if u experienced this bug in etpub or main, please respond)

Does the mx510 have on the fly dpi settings?

Hi!
I can get sudden sens-changes too. Once every month or so, which isn’t that bad given that I play every day.
I usually restart, or go to another program and back (while ET is running in window-mode). I hit Ctrl + TAB to swtich between open programs. The sens is usually back to normal when I return to ET. If not, I do like you and restart.
When do these problems occur? They can come right out of the blue, without warning. They may also be self-induced: I play ET and die (yes, it happens). While in Limbo I get bored. You know the feeling: “Darn! 29 sec respawn!”. I Hit Ctrl + TAB to switch to my web browser. I surf for 20 sec. Then Ctrl + TAb and back to ET. As I get back into action, sens has changed, ususlly to a much higher sens. Although the console tells me that the sens is unchanged. Odd.
I solve this problem the same way: Switch to another program (Ctrl + TAB) and back again, and then sens is back to normal.
I Have a MX510.

I use etminimiser - a little proggie that sits in the sys tray.
ALT+Z minimises ET

I have an MX510 too and have never had this issue … weird eh …

no

this does not work for me.

and loffy, do you know if it happens in other mods than ETpro?

the odd thing is…its not always been like this… so its not just “suxx0r” mx510 … it must be something else…
