I was playing axis on fueldump on a limited lives campaign.
I was engineer on the fueldump roof, down on health. I pulled up limbo menu to change to medic for next spawn. When i closed limbo menu, a gun popped out from me (as if I had pressed +dropweapon in rtcw), and i picked it up for free ammo

Yeah same thing happend to me it was sooooooooooo strange it was like it fell from the sky DEVINE INTERVENTION MAYBE LOL
There have been times when I have noticed my gun pop out of my hands but I never tied it to anything related event. In retrospect, it may have been after entering limbo and it may not have been MY gun afterall but an extra one.
Do you recall if the ‘new’ gun had a full load of ammo or an amount identical to that which you were carrying at the time?
Maybe entering the limbo screen has the same effect as tapping out in some sections of code. Something doesn’t get checked and out shoots your gun - or a copy of it!

I think the weapon drop code is just screwy all over. Yesterday I got a bug where I tried to switch weapons, and I dropped my weapon but it didn’t pick up the other weapon, so I was stuck with no primary weapon, and both of the smgs were gone so I could not pick one back up again.
No theres a bug, doesn’t happen all the time of course, but occationally I will drop a weapon with some ammo in it and and pick up one with no ammo, then drop it and pick up my orignal weapon and it won’t draw, as if it has no ammo.
yeah, weapon switching for weapons with no ammo is pretty screwy. pick up an empty mp40, then go back to pick up your original thompson, and things sometimes get really weird. :moo:
you get that when people are spectating you, and they disconnect.
The gun drop is there from rtcw, you’ll often see guns dropping from the sky at the end of a game when people quit, however in ET it appears to be there if they are spectating you, and they always appear to drop your the gun you’re carrying that i’ve noticed.
when it happens again, look down int he bottom left, or in the console for a disconnect message. I was hoping no one would mention this, as it’s a life saver sometimes

yeah, i’ve noticed that problem too.
Lets say i have 5 ammo in my mp40, and an additional 32 rounds spare… if i drop the mp40 and pick up a thompson, and then re-pickup my mp40, i lose the 32 additional ammo, and only get the 5 that was in the gun. You’d almost expect to see an mp40 only ammo box dropped aswell with the initial drop… this would be a better feature and allow ammo low medics to share ammo a bit better… until then just keep an eye on it.
it’s also possible to move guns to where you want by continually swapping guns, quite easy to effectively push them along.
