many constructible mg42 nests fire a few degrees low. not all of them do though.
none of the fixed mg42 nests appeared to have the problem.
soldier’s portable mg42 does not have these problems.

There are spawnflags to control how accurate the mg 42 is. There are also flags to control the Harc and Varc. I wonder if its just the 42s in “prime” killing spots/choke points that are off?
Be it as it may, thanks for the the info. Always wondered why I wasn’t killing jokers running right at me with those specific weapons.
teh best one to test it on is the one near the old city in oasis
shooting out past the broken wall at axis you’ll see the bullets are well below the crosshairs
harc and varc control the range of motion, not the accuracy. Or at least they did in RTCW.
I tested the machineguns in fueldump, and it does seem that some are indeed very low. In particular, the allied spawn MG, the road MG, and the side MG are bad. The rest seem fairly centered.
Mobile MG
Axis Depot MG
Tower MG
Allied Spawn MG
Churchill Mk VII
Road MG
Axis Side MG
Green square indicates the approximate area the gun hit in the plane of the target, blue dot is the point I was aiming for. Red lines are the path of the bullets.
In the Jagdpanther when you shoot down the shoot impact well below the crosshair, when you turn the gun upwards the bullet impacts will come closer to the center of the crosshair and at max elevation will slightly overshoot the center of the crosshair.
This can be best tested by shoting at the buildings while the tank drives by.
SD, guess a little finetunig is needed

Didn’t know that…ooops! Thanks you for correcting me. I was pondering it was the same flags used for the pf “arc” in some mods. Shrub I think?
