BUG: Certain user name cannot be used in votes

I recently found a new bug when I was playing in an old server a couple days ago. This one guy got so annoying and killed teammates like crazy until we finally kicked him, but he came back, and he changed his user name to ^_I. We tried to kick him again, but in the player list his user name was supposedly “I” and when we chose “KICK” absolutely nothing would happen. So I tried finding out what was going on, and after changing my name a ton, I think that any name beginning with a ^ can’t be voted on. Try it yourself, just name yourself something like ^1^JAX and you can’t get kicked…

Maybe it’s just me, though, but no one else could kick him either.

you can use /players to find his client id and use /callvote kick id.

This is known for a long time know, it is indeed irritating if you are common with the referee menu, and arent used to typing it into the console.

You don’t even have to do the /players thing.

A lot of players make the mistake of typing several ^'s before the name to get it right, but the trick is type exactly what you SEE. For instance, if someone’s name was…

^RB you wouldn’t type

/kick ^^1R^4B

you would type

/kick^RB

Oh yes, and you’d HAVE to use the console. This also works on players who somehow rewire it so that if you call a vote on them it automatically kicks a different player.

These are supposed to be fixed in etpro, and maybe shrub too.

If it is configured, you may be able to use /pb_kick as well.

yes, it maybe a bug…yesterday i played with etpro and i noticed this problem too, but the suspected player had got 70% of accuracy with MP40 and 100 kills with this weapon, 900 hits on 1500 shots, 4 lights weapon and all that in one only map. His nickname was “top speed”, we could directly ask to him here how he did to be not kicked by call vote system.
