why would it be a joke? bishop and unko are my clanmates and i asked them to participate in the world cup. that roster contains names from a few of japans better fps clans.

So if a euro team plays vs Japan, they are going to play one round on a Japanese server and one round on a european server, right ?
It’s a World cup, seems unfair to not let them play on a server closer to them.

Yeah it’s a world cup, and yeah we’ll play them, but in ETQW (well at least on my machine) the framerate is so crappy that I litteraly can’t play with 300 ping, it was ok with SoF2 or Q3 but it’s not in QW, so what’s the point in playing if I see one frame per 10 seconds while we are on japanese server, and they see the same when we are on EU server?
Being nice and gentle is a thing, being realistic is another… But yeah in theory indeed they can play, and I’m all for that, it’s just that it needs to be somehow a “good” game experience, if not it’s just pointless.

I feel the same as Apples. Ping over 200 are the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Unplayable.
Lol, japanese players got quite a normal ping on american servers, so we could play both on a NA server !
The Japanese games will be played on an American server throughout as that will be about balanced for the Euro team and Japanese team in the way of ping hopefully.
