This is a well known glitch that occurs when your r_subdivisions cvar is set too high.

(Vaibhav) #3

this is strange cos it only happned today.

Did you change your config?

The following will fix your problem:
/seta r_subdivisions “4”

(BlackDeath) #5

If I may interject, what exactly do r_subdivisions do? The only two recommendations I’ve seen have been r_subdivisions 4 and r_subdivisions 999…

nope didnt change my configs today and ill try dat setting

r_subdivisions is used to adjust the level of triangle detail in patches (curves). A low number like ‘0’ gives you the highest amount of geometrical detail, while an absurd value of ‘999’ gives you the most angular and simplified geometry possible. A value of ‘4’ is a nice balance that lets you see curves as curves, but doesn’t neccessarily kill your performance. Plus, ‘4’ is the default value.
