BRINK vs CRYSIS 2

(optimusprimev2) #1

Hey i have a small question here. I can get only one of the games between BRINK and CRYSIS 2. I’m looking only at the multiplayer aspect of the games to be the decider .
I know both are different in their own ways but i want the better one fo the 2 in terms of multiplayer.

Any suggestions??And check out mutiplayer vids from Crysis 2.

PS: Since this is the BRINK forums i’m sure no one has not see the mutiplayer videos

Yeah saw the compendium. Its there.

But in terms of multiplayer gameplay which will more satisfying as in i prefer battlefield gameplay over cod so.

Definitely Crysis 2.

(optimusprimev2) #6

Why is the shooting more satisfying and real in crysis 2 compared to Brink??

welcome to the brink forums, the main meal for any period of time is sarcasm, with a side of facetiousness. should you tire of this fare found on the brink forums then by special order you can acquire some of the finest sarcastic jackassery available on the interwebs.

on a serious note, your question currently cannot be answered accurately as full multiplayer has not been able to be played by anyone here (to my knowledge).

this being said if you like objective based gameplay, i.e. kdr and kills in general takes a back-seat to an overlying larger purpose then that leans more towards brink. if you enjoy taking more bullets to kill, requiring accuracy rather than “speed of spray”, then likely again it points more towards brink (haven’t played crysis 2 demo or such so not sure if this is the case, seems so from the vids however). if you like DM TDM and the like as game modes then brink is not the game for you as brink does not have these game modes.

at any rate brink is more akin to tf2 than battlefield. also do yourself a favor and don’t try to suggest that battlefield has any semblance of teamwork on these forums… this would be one way to acquire aforementioned “finest sarcastic jackassery”.

tldr; if you are looking for a game similar to cod or battlefield look ye elsewhere as brink is not similar to these, and those here like it that way.

You tell us, few people have played both games. Why Crysis is such an excellent game that does everything right is a mystery to most of us.

(SockDog) #9

Everyone’s an expert on Brink until someone wants a simple answer.

Pick Brink. It’s made by a developer with a pedigree in multiplayer gaming. If you just want Online then that’s where I’d put (or have put) my money.

Don’t like the look of the automatic weapon handling in the Crysis2 beta footage. It seems to be standard practice to hold down your fire button and spray a clip at opponent. There is no substantial recoil or spread penalty as an incentive to fire in bursts.

For me this makes the weapons seem like 1 dimensional laser bullet guns.

(BioSnark) #11

As opposed to Brink weapon handling?

Like sockdog said,

crytek: singleplayer games with some multiplayer
splash damage: multiplayer games

Battlefield does have teamwork. CoD can have it too, but I never saw it in any of the MP games I played.

I’d get neither of the above, and go with Homefront.

(trigg3r) #13

if you’re looking for a single player game, definitely Crysis.
If you’re aiming for the multiplayer experience go with Brink

everything I’ve seen about Homefront makes me want to play Minesweeper (much better game)

:penguin:

After some personal beta testing, I must say crysis 2 is only for single player.

(KnollDark) #18

why do you need to decide, Crysis 2 releases 2 months before Brink you could easily play both, buy Crysis play it sell it to Play n’ Trade (not GameStop, yuck) pitch in another $10-20 and you got yourself a new game

(LyndonL) #19

Crysis intrigues me, but I am not interested in the crysuit and how it will influence online gaming. Seems like it’d promote a lot of camping (people turning on the camoflague and sniping). Boring.

Give me run and gun Brink styles

(optimusprimev2) #20

OK firstly if i could got both games i wouldn’t be posting this question now would i :expressionless: ( P.S. its only 20 US$ in India for each of the games \m/ )

Secondly after reading all your opinions i understand that BRINK is more objective based and certain goals are to be completed by your team to win whereas crysis 2 will only have DM and TDM and you can be a lone wolf and play the game so:

-If i can get my mates to buy the game get BRINK
-else get Crysis 2 and don’t camp.

Thanks to all for your opinions, Cheers. Any more would be greatly appreciated

Oh and [QUOTE=Herandar;262499]

Trust me on this, Homefront is a COD rebuild with battlefield elements of spotting(it has advanced spotting where options come up on holding the ‘spot’ key) and vehicles. All the vehicles pack a punch but cant say the same about the guns. Explosions look good and sound good and you can win the match single-handedly even though its meant to be a team based game.

Crysis2 and BRINK also look way better.
