BRINK suggestions forum
Actually, nothing is wrong in my eyes. You TK me? Fine, you’ve paid the price for it anyway. It are actually the people who want to employ mob-rule systems in this game that see criminals everywhere.

Teamkilling should simply be too expensive not to keep your eyes open.
Not wanting to get dragged off into another circular argument but, mob rule? not quite. Allowing an individual you’ve played with register their opinion of you is all I’ve suggested.

(SockDog) #382

Well it’ll certainly be on my personal achievements list that I’ll jump on every grenade he throws just to screw with his character’s XP and Stats.

(tokamak) #383

It wouldn’t be circular if you actually separated team killing from grieving. They’re two different issues.

The first rule of games it to WIN. This is a rule no other rule can be in contradiction with. The path to win is filled with SKILL. The one with more skill should win. Skill is divided into tactics and aim-skill in FPS games.

I have been playing for the win since w:et and all server rules like no spawnkilling etc are against rule #1. If winning isn’t a goal, it’s not a game. If i can’t make tactics(read:use my brain), why should i play? Must the person with superior reflexes win? I smell an aimbot from that direction. Or is it that using brains can’t be simulated by any computer AI so people with no skills only see smart people as cheaters?

Please do no prohibit the use of tactics. I see only failure from that direction.

(tokamak) #385

Prohibit the use of tactics? What? Where?

(DarkangelUK) #386

Seriously dude, you don’t need to reply to every single comment that’s posted.

murka10: With that train of thought aimbots should be allowed cos they help win, tweaking connection settings to make you harder to hit should be allowed cos that helps you win. It’s not as black and white as you’re making out. Exactly what tactics are you seeing as prohibited?

(murka) #387

Tk-revive?
The whole discussion has been about it. Every time someone makes a tactic it must be made useless and possibly punished for such action?

(DarkangelUK) #388

Everytime? TK revive 1st of all was more of an unforeseen event that developed from RtCW… and has survived all the way to ET:QW. No dev mentioned that TK-revive would be removed, so i’m just confused as to where your rant developed from.

(tokamak) #389

I can, therefore I do.

TK-revives are an artefact and not a tactic, they should be redundant in a properly tuned game.

(DarkangelUK) #390

You can also jump off a bridge to your death, doesn’t mean you’re gonna do it.

(tokamak) #391

Fine, I can and I want, therefore I do.

(DarkangelUK) #392

“it’s my party and i’ll cry if i want to” etc

Back on topic… i agree it should be curbed. Maybe less health for a revive that makes a TKR pointless.

(tokamak) #393

Would you mind not letting things derail into personal squabbles all the time? Such a waste of words.

(DarkangelUK) #394

lol nice attempt at trying to turn it around… even though i brought things back on top with my previous reply… sly dude, very sly

(Nail) #395

it’s been mentioned that FF is off for standard game, therefore no tk revive, happy now ?

(tokamak) #396

That would be even worse, where has that been said? I only heard Bongo say “Teamkilling is a big no-no”

(Ragoo) #397

I have to add to my previous post:

People will abuse everything you give them to punish other players just because the other players are strangers to them or they even think it’s funny to get on everyone’s nerves. MP is cruel and that is also why they won’t allow global voice chat on their standard servers. There are simply too many jerks around.

But if you give them the option to rate other players positive it’s very likely that players will only do that if they are really serious about it and think that this other player deserves it.

That is why I think the system I suggested has the potential to work way better than a system that depends on the opinion of 15 random players about a complete stranger because this will most often end in 'I don’t know if he is a tker but I will just click yes because there must be a reason for the vote/I think it’s funny to kick him so I click yes/I just don’t care and click yes/…".

(tokamak) #398

How are you going to get grievers out by rating people positively?

(Ragoo) #399

Go back one page and read my suggestion. You should have read it because you quoted part of my post :stuck_out_tongue:
