Brink set to release on September 7?

Why would we think that you may wonder. Well, GameStop just launched a Brink sweepstakes, where one lucky winner (U.S. residents only) will receive a home theatre overhaul including; A 55″ LED TV, 5.1 Surround Sound Home Entertainment System and the choice of a PlayStation3® or Xbox 360@ console. This is officially backed up by Bethesda Softworks and Splash Damage which means this is a real deal. Again, why? Look at the dates, both on the official sweepstakes ad it clearly says “available 9.7.2010″ as in September 7 2010.

Well, some might say this may just be a huge mistake and yes, it could be. But then again, knowing how extremely careful especially Bethesda Softworks are with actually giving clearance I highly doubt it. The official Bethesda Softworks blog, the Splash Damage twitter and the official Brink twitter all link to the GameStop ad, again, it looks very likely that this IS the actual release date set for Brink.

Is strange but then who ever expects a game store to stick to its dates. Till it’s gold I’m cautious over any date.

I entered the sweepstake though, 1st prize looks nice, could do with a new TV.

That would be a great time to release the game, before the wave of autumn triple A releases hit.

And as long as it doesn’t come out of the oven half-baked, the sooner the better!

that’s a gamestop ad, nothing more. but a release date in that time frame would make sense, given the next call of duty and crysis 2 will be released in oct/nov.

and if it’s really september, i’d say it’s about time to gief beta. otherwise i fear our annoyance (for which i’m totally prepared) wouldn’t have much of an effect … after all, what’s a beta good for if you can’t annoy the devs beyond bearing

I don’t care when it releases, even if it gets pushed again. As long as it’s as polished as can be when they release it.

and why is it a Brink contest? You don’t even win a copy of the game as a prize, lol.

thing is mate. bethesda softworks tend to be extremely careful with their clearance on things (trust me, their legal department is on to me! haha… or well…) and for bethesda announcing this on their webpage (adding the splash and official brink twitters) without first demanding that gamestop change their sweepstakes ad that has the date makes me believe that this is more then just another date on a “silly competition poster” :slight_smile:

still, could be wrong. but i chose to not believe i am.

hoping it just release with little or no problems tbh.

maybe there will be a open beta release for a couple of weeks to help iron out any probs like BF:BC2 did. everyone is buzzing about that game just playing the taster and I don’t think it’ll be az amazing as Brink.

can’t wait for this title, looks amazing :slight_smile:

Any games having a date of release at a precise day months before release hits store unfinished, let’s hope it will be pushed back again :frowning:

Lots of websites simply make up release dates as it attracts more buyer. This isn´t a Bethesda competition .
