Brink Q&A

(Cankor) #1101

That’s OK, just let me know if you got the idea for XP bonus in the mission area from that old post I made on ETQW forums with same idea … Should I be proud or not? lol
The above just pointed out to me and…

I find this really cool, especially considering I made a post way back when on the ETQW forums with this very idea. Any chance some of you guys read that and picked up on the idea or is this just a case of great minds thinking alike?
They most probably came to that design decision on their own while trying to find a way to make players actually carry out objectives instead of just running around like the game were an ego shooter.

I have a question regarding the charecter customisation and teams:

Since each side (resistance/security) has a distinct look, and differant apparel, when a player creates his charecter, does he use the same charecter model regardless of what team he is on and just the clothes change? or do you only play for one team? or do you make 2 charecters, 1 for security and one for resistance? so you can change? Im just generally confused by the fact that there is such individual customisation yet 2 distinct teams.

Fairly certain it’ll be something along these lines.

One character (body), two outfits (one resistance, one security) whatever team needs a person when playing online is the outfit you will play with. I don’t think you’re locked into a team based on what you dress your character like. I’m reading between the lines but I came to that conclusion after reading some of the recent dev posts.

are there pink tutus in this game?

Are there gold necklaces in this game?

Can I make my character to look like the character in my sig?

Is the so called scoped weapon like the scoped K43 and Garand from ET?

(.Chris.) #1106

Will there be a rocket launcher? Grenade Launchers just don’t cut the mustard I’m afraid.

signofzeta, I’m sure there will be plenty of dressing up options! (see my sig)

What are you talking about! The Village People are awesome! The songs are so catchy. Something about gay performers, they put out good songs…Elton John, George Michael, Rob Halford, all great.

At 2:42 he mentions something about rescuing civilians.

Rahdo hinted that the civilians are something to keep the medics busy if they need something to do.

(SockDog) #1111

Maybe I was reading too much into it but I got the impression it was actually a mission centered around the medics. I guess some AI controlled civilians escorted and requiring healing to get to the objective would be a nice twist on the engineer-repair mission.

(Exedore) #1112

Quite the idea, that.

(.Chris.) #1113

Another escort mission, yipee…

They were slow, boring and spammy in ET (tank/truck) and more so in ET:QW (MCP).

Can SD say how many of the maps available contain escort missions their various forms? Really hope its less than 50%

(Apples) #1114

Its a mission where all the civilians are proning and you have to escort them thru a map as huge as consite

(shibbyuk) #1115

Sounds good to me. Might be reminiscent of medics supporting the chap carrying the databrain, which was good fun. Except the civilians probably wont have guns…

(Apoc) #1116

Im hoping the civilian will be “un-gibbable” lol, or that could quickly lead to a fast map end lol.

(brbrbr) #1117

more dynamically-gerated missions and missions aspects[as well as enviroments/opposition/awards and etc], more interesting game become.

I have a question about purchasing abilities. I know there are 5 categories (soldier, engy, medic, Op, general) - can you purchase/unlock abilities as they become available, or do you need to invest a said amount into a certain tree before hand?

Ex - I invest all my points into medic and general. The next time I ‘lvl up’ or whatever, I want to buy a soldier skill. Am I able to buy the ‘high end’ skills right off the bat, (saying I meet lvl req. ro whatever) or do I need to have more points invested into soldier skills first? Like Diablo 2.

Sounds like you just need to be at a certain level, to buy whatever it is you want.
