Yes there are weapon melee attacks, and also other more acrobatic stuff that hopefully Bezzy can talk about in the near future.
Brink Q&A
[QUOTE=DarkangelUK;196580]From a guess i’d say it’s chars model features that would give the player away. Unique tatoos, scars on the face etc while the player wears the enemies full outfit.

That would be really cool, but doesn’t that make not wearing any shirt an advantage? Nobody could dress up like you if you only wear pants.
It’s an interesting gameplay vs detail here.
Yeah, I’m looking forward to being able to talk about it! It started quite experimentally, but we’ve been able to iterate the melee system a few times, which means we’re close to a system which suits this game best. Still have to get bugs ironed out and polished, of course, and then we have to balance everything so that it fits in a complimentary way with all the other game systems.
Although this is a cool idea I think players would just choose to not have any scars or tattoos to avoid being spotted like this
Flying kicks and rugby tackles?!

My vote goes for Chinese burns and wedgies.
I’m sure it’s going to be about dropping your guns, and playing a mini-game of fencing against your opponent.
Indeed, when I played my first clanwars it was usually “Play with as many people as who can show up”, and later on when I started playing a bit more competitive it became mainly 6 versus 6 and 3 versus 3 (heavily restricted). There were also 1 versus 1 competitions and ladders and nowadays 2 versus 2 is quite popular in ladders as well, and it seems Wolfenstein is heading towards having 5 versus 5 as most common match format in competitions. W:ET competitions also tried the 5 versus 5 match format and that did not turn out to be very successful. On the higher levels of competition you also have to think of LAN events, for which you want action packed matches but have to deal with logistics and stuff. In the end reaching a good match format really depends on the level of competitiveness your team is participating at, and what these numbers are is just something we have to find out for ourselves.
He’s asking if the tattoos etc are tied to the body type.
Nail: Class is not specific to your character. It’s something that’s changed at game time via the control posts.
yes, tattoos, scarification etc are what I meant, and yes body type, it was cheap Rye and I was confusered.
I guess what I was trying to say was, if you switch from heavy to light, do your body graphics stay
Nail, you can’t change the body type of the character. You must decide his posture when you create the character.
oopsie, typing without thinking, should have said switch character from heavy to light as you can have several different characters, then realized later that you can ink up each character independently, sorry, multiple brain fart
the intent right now (and bear in mind, this isn’t final) is that for every one of the characters you create, you’ve got a “permanent” layer and a “temporary” layer. The permanent stuff is basically scars and tattoos. Once you put on on, that’s it. It’s a permanent thing, like in real life. Doesn’t matter if you switch sides or body types (which you can change but not during matches, and not without an XP cost), it’s a part of you. The temporary layer is stuff like warpaint and camouflage and whatnot. Those things can change any time (between matches, anyway)
would be interesting to know what (if) you guys got planned for common things, ie stuff that all players of a single clan can wear/tattoo/etc together. i hope the grouping of people goes beyond having the clan tag in front of the name
I’m more curious how that would work for clan integration. If you’re new to a clan, can you add a new clan tattoo? If you leave a clan or move to another, then the tattoos are permanent at time of creation, so do you need to create a new char from scratch?
