Brink PC Gets Steamworks, System Requirements

(LyndonL) #161

Wow… A lot of misguided anger in here.

Now a question please to SD: How large is the game download roughly? Rough is cool. 8gb? 10gb? 15gb?

(Seyu) #162

Less than 8 gb.
OMG!

Splash Damage, what are you doing? :frowning:
First, the Linux Client disappointment and now the Steamworks bull$#*&.
I’m so happy they went with steamworks. it’s a pain running yet another service when all i want to do is keep my friends list and invites in one place. Steam is the answer to everything

sounds like they need to…

puts on sunglasses

let off some steam…

(LyndonL) #165

Seriously? Or is that a guess?

(SockDog) #166

I think 8gig is just the DVD capacity but I know that sometimes the Steam files come down with less compression.

Would be really nice if there was an optional hi-res texture pack on steam you could download.

(trigg3r) #167

in the system requirements it says you need 8 GB, so that¡s why he’s guessing is 8gb or less

i lol’d

(Nail) #168

I think 6 GB is the microsoft limit for content

(jRAD) #169

PC Dual Layer DVDs have a bit more room to play with, fortunately.

(Nail) #170

you saying PC players get more megabytes ?

yay us, extras

(DarkangelUK) #171

Higher quality textures? \o/

(Nail) #172

mod tools, server files ?

(mortis) #173

I love how my system that was nearly top-end when I built it a year or two ago is just now barely enough to meet the recommended specs. Computers go obsolete so quickly. I could probably run 10+ instances of Wolf:ET on my computer, but only one of Brink. Well, as long as I meet the recommended specs, then I am happy…

(DarkangelUK) #174

Ok, 1st person to get the game… drop the console and type doomedit, see what happens.

(SockDog) #175

What console?

Nice to see extra space being used, I’d like to think higher res textures. I think modding assets should be part of the SDK distribution.

(DepressedOptimist) #179

So my computer can’t run it. I’m not surprised.

There is a lot of talk around the net of a new console generation coming in a year or so; that is when I’ll make a nice computer.

(CdeMonkey) #180

Jeez… this game gets better and better by the day! The only worry I have is that my computer might not be able to run this well. Oh well, I’ll deal with that as it comes. See you all there! I never thought I’d like a game that had a tagline like “TF2 with more customization”.
