I meanth the 3rd of may. I heard there was this competition you could win?
4. The interface
The interface is huge and terrible, again its obvious where SD are targetting the game, a big interface means only one thing, the game is meant to be played on a TV with the player further away from the screen = console.
The rest is all nonsense but this is a good point. If the game would really be developed separately for each platform then there would have to be different interfaces. You simply cannot have the same UI for all platforms across the board. The interface we’ve seen so far is very ‘loud’ everything is pointed out to players in really big and obnoxious ways.
The only excuse is that we haven’t seen the PC version yet and frankly there’s no excuse for that.
My biggest problem is that there is not even good console footage. Most of it looks scripted and the rest was a female interviewer who is not familiar with shooters playing the game on a PS3. What we need is some actual PC gameplay from a seasoned shooter player, one who works for SD preferably and has played the game before to showcase him playing.
The lack of proper PC footage is actually really, really hurting BRINK’s reputation amongst those who are sick of nooby console shooter stuff like CoD, but don’t know (or trust) Splash Damage.
I have seen many people at readmore.de (big German esport page) and teamliquid.net ( by far biggest Starcraft 2 page) say that BRINK looks very newby and consolish -___-
Guess the only reason I think BRINK is still gonna be an awesome PC shooter and worthy successor of W:ET and ET:QW is that I trust SD. So please Splash Damage, do not let me down!
I am also really starting to worry about lack of PC footage (or any footage for that matter). Lets have some more footage already!
Where are you seeing these reports? Since there’s “no footage”, are they basing this on hands-on time? I seen the news post you made, but you said reports so wondering if there are more than that?
@ DarkangelUK - Reading my post back I do feel it does come across wrong. I suppose it was the shock of a report which was not that favourable from a team of reviewers which (in my opinion) normally aren’t that disparaging about games without reason. I will amend original post.
