Brink is at war..

(xTriXxy) #1

Look here! Brinks competitors strategy:

i was searching for word “brink”, check the ad on right side! Forget brink!

Seems, Brink is at war

(Ramziez) #2

Oh no they didn’t just declare war on Brink…

Men amass our tapir army to defeat these monsters.

:stroggtapir: :stroggtapir: :stroggtapir: :stroggtapir:

Mobilize troops!

(H0RSE) #3

they done did it now…

(Mad Hatter) #4

…how very direct of them. O_o

(Slade05) #5

I think it`s generic and it would say “forget Crysis” or something like it too.
Them resorting to this low of a tactic is fun, though.

(MrX) #6

so many good multiplayer, they can’t stop comin’

Disappointed that Kaos Decreased the amount of people from 64 pc/50 xbox live to 32 people multiplayer but the battlepoint system looks alot better then killstreaks

God, I hope this links right.

Hey, one of those dudes copped an arrow in his ass if memory serves me…

(Auzner) #11

Heh. Next time use gif or png format though

(THEJORRRG) #12

WOAH! What an underhanded blow. I think it’s a sign of desperation from THQ, there. I’m a fan of THQ, but to me this is a “oh ****, BRINK looks better than our game, and is coming out at the same time. We best call it ****ty so the community sticks with our game.”
Boo, bad Homefront devs! Not cool!
Brink>>>>>>>>>>>Homefront.

(tokamak) #13

Well at least they actually HAVE an advertising campaign…

(madoule) #14

tokamak, bethesda is going to have a campaign. however it’s not only a question if they decide to have a campaign and the size of the associated budget - it’s as well a deal of how to play your cards…
i’d be happy to see the actual forecast sheets and pre-orders, but i’d guess brinks doing quite fine there. so it may be not the best idea to roll out a huge campaign.

PLUS i’m pretty sure the majority of the well appreciated forum members (including me) likes the fact that brink is the underdog in the race for 2011’s most acclaimed game…

(tokamak) #15

I don’t like that underdog position at all. ETQW had the underdog position, got critically acclaimed but didn’t get the playerbase it deserved by a long shot. A game like this breaking through to the broad public can shift the paradigm in what people want out of a game.

(madoule) #16

i sure do hope the same, however IMO thats basically achieved through good score in reviews and the upcoming articles in media that hopefully will hook the majority of players, HC and casual.
However i do not think big marketing and advertising waves big publishers use to create have a great affect nowadays…

(tokamak) #17

I think it does. Console players basically want to play what their friends are playing and have some peer competition going and the same **** to talk about. If one of them hasn’t even heard of the game then there’s a chance both won’t get it.

Being a great game is not enough. Gamers basically want to play the latest talk in town, so far COD managed to have that title through very intensive campaigning.

Any support for this wildly misinformed statement?

(Auzner) #19

Pepsi/Coke commercials did this

(tokamak) #20

I really have no background in marketing. But with new franchises it seems wise to invest more in advertising than in sequels as it will eventually be paid back with the name the game then build for itself (and thus selling more sequels).
