Brink has not flopped yet

This game is awesome. Just finished like a 5-7 game streak. (winning them all! )
Xbox360, full on 8v8 humans the whole time. 1 migrate host in the middle of Sec. Tower but other than that NO LAG the whole time.

I played a heavy medic, lvl 17-18 the whole time and was really able to keep my team in the action with all the tools given.
Always need more supplies as a medic though.

Everyone was working together, buffing, resupplying, reviving, focused on the objective, it was just perfect. (Like ol’ times on BC2 w/ a good crew)
You wanna know the best part? Random freeplay game. Didn’t know anyone. I dont think anyone did as there were no fireteams and no chatter?
Got a few FRs at the end though.

Best 2.5 hrs online in a LONG time. Cheers SD!

I strongly urge anyone reading this who hasn’t yet played the game or put it away too soon to give it a go.(again)
There is amazing fun to be had. Play to AT LEAST rank 3, at 4 it really gets good. And 5? well, you’ll just have to find out.

Even though the peak was 4K? Troll much?

(funsize) #23

9PM on a summer night. Kids are out of school. 909 people playing. Do the math. And even if the Euros were playing the number wouldn’t be much higher.

(AntiCitizenJuan) #24

Yeah, Brink is really showing that single player game what for…

Brand Damage have supposedly said they’ve learned a lot from ET:QW. Would you say they’re learning things faster than they’re unlearning them ? How the hell can one explain things like nearly worthless heavy, operative, carb9 dominance ? Very rough estimate below:
Operative: 1/4 of classes not useful, 3 classes remain.

Heavies are bad, mediums are half-bad. This means there are around 1.5 useful body types. Half of total.

I feel bad for ya GS. You put a lot of work into a sinking ship, bra. You should be the most pissed of anyone at SD.

(PowZee) #27

It’s not shameful to finally give up on perpetual frustration. . . and topping the list is the programmings inferior ability to provide a strong standard of connectibility and smooth frame rate during multiplayer gameplay - utterly basic requirements - without which nothing else you could say good about the game itself matters.

I want to know what this guy is smoking! Years, years? ROFLOLSP(SP=**** pants), this game hasnt even made it a month and its dying faster than I can clean my pants after my accident.

Ive been playing computer FPS’s from the original Day of Defeat. I havent been brainwashed by any game. I was looking forward to a polished game since this one was delayed over a year. I expect games to be a little unbalanced at the start because that is the nature of the beast. However this game is a “BETA”. I find it hilarious the devs are asking us to track down all of the problems we are having with the game.

(shadowmike) #29

Statistics like these don’t mean a whole lot to me personally. I can still quickly find a full lag free match so no complaints here.

(Steinernein) #30

And you soon won’t.

That and the servers that are up really need to double check their settings. Some servers still don’t allow voting. And … Refuel. God F Refuel.

Well Singularity lasted at least 2 months despite lagging horribly often and not being that popular at all. In any case, so long as my friends are still playing I’ll be content.

Great thread, it will probably be locked in a day though.[/QUOTE]

Crap like this annoys me, since when do SD ever go on a thread locking spree? They’re generally quite open to criticism, and worse threads have been left to run their course while people have slammed the hell out of the game and SD while being complete arseholes.

I check steam stats everyday, and unfortunely the playerbase numbers keep droping every week, bugs need to be fixed, balance too, and the game price needs to drop a lot to have any chances of having a big community.

(fearlessfox) #34

No need to revel in this guys, it’s like your’e all /glad/ Brink numbers have dwindled so low…

(brbrbr) #35

myriads of flies can’t be wrong ?
so anyone should take dinner where ? and play what ?

(H3LLS1) #36

they are.

i wish i could see the current players on XBL…cuz i that will really show how much of the masses are playing, or not playing, this game.

Even if they do figure out a good balance for the game…it’ll be too late. it’s almost already too late.

(Tetra) #37

If we didn’t care about Brink we wouldn’t be posting in forums talking about it. Most, smarter, players just dropped this game because it’s garbage and completely moved on. We’re just acknowledging that this game does deserve to flop because of it’s lack of quality and Splash Damage and Bethesda deserve criticism for producing a bad game, Gamers voicing their complaints about Brink want Brink to reach it’s potential more so than fanboys.

(Kendle) #38

Pretty sad that even venerable DOD:S has more players.

Despite coming from RTCW and ET originally I’ve actually played DOD:S for longer than all the other games I’ve played combined, I love it and wish I was still playing it, but it’s basically a dead game (competitively), with just small communities playing effectively TDM on 32 slots servers.

And yet a dead (and ancient) game like DOD:S has more players than Brink, that’s a really sad state of affairs IMO.

I certainly think Brink has potential, and it’s not a bad game per se, but it really needs a major patch, and it needs it now … :frowning:

I’m glad that anyone in the dev process who thought this game was worth $60 will not be making money on DLC sales when no one plays their game in week from now.

I"m upset that this isn’t ET3 like I was told it would be, but nothing can change that.

And since I already gave bethesda $60 and am still awaiting a full game I’m glad I can now pirate Skyrim with a clear conscience

The only single glimmer of hope I was going to have if Brink died was the possibility you would leave here and not come back… but well advocating and admitting piracy on a developer forum will earn you boot out the door as it is. Good riddance.
