Brink on PC is dead. But i dont blame SD. They made great console game. ETQW was great PC game, Brink is for consoles.
ps. im 100% sure Bethesda ordered brink game as it is.

For Sure !! Duke is the biggest EPIC FAIL of the year
But I’m pretty sure SD got the best multiplayer emptying of the year ! less than 1 month !
Release 40 000 players peak >>>>>>>>> now 800 players peak ! just WOAAAWWW ! EPIC !
TF2 going to free to play seems to have accelerated the drop.
Incidentally, prior to going free to play TF2 usually had around 12,000 players online. Since going free to play they’ve been averaging 85,000-100,000 playing at a time. I wish more publishers (hello Bethesda) would take a look at that.

maybe it was competition between developers - kill your playerbase ;p

Broke PC players aren’t willing to spend $$$$
well, I guess if everything was free it’d be just great huh?
I’ve got a free house you can have. Oh yeah, it’s condemned. I couldn’t afford to spend any money fixing it up.
I’m SOOOOO glad I play on a console and don’t have to deal with these attitudes there.
YOU ARE THE REASON THERE’S NO IN-GAME CHAT!
NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR YOU DAMN MOUTHS!
Really, they said that, “so you don’t have to listen to a bunch of trash talking competitive players”.
I agree with bugs / perfomace issues
But i would also add the fun factor, whats the fun to attack in Reactor/shipyard/resort etc when the defense have a good team.
Its kinda impossible to get the objectives done with a good defense.
The current game modes are kinda fail for the masses and they can be really frustrating and not fun at all, People are forced to attack or just to defend.
I don´t get the point of some gamemodes look at Refuel for example
1st objective you need to plant the bomb.
2nd objective escort the briefcase thing into the airplane.
3rd Hack the controls thing in a diferent room.
4th Escort the briefcase into the airplane again
5th Repair the controls in the hangar as engeneer.
And the enemy might defuse you bomb/ dehack the hacking / lock down several rooms / return the briefcase etc.
Whats the chances to complete 5 objectives having decent teams in both sides.
I suspect all this stuff is one of the reasons why you see a lot of players on the attacking team leaving the server when its they turn to attack.
Today in reactor i counted 6 players on the attacking team that left the server shortly after it began, while on the defense team no one disconected maybe coincidence but maybe not.
We need new gamemodes where both teams have to attack and defend and not 10 objectives make it more linear more enjoyable instead, you can argue that brink is ment to play schtop or whatever is called but the majority of pub servers dont run that.
Brink Sales on 360 have gone from 390K units on Week 1 to 650K units by week 6:

Although it’s probably way under their sales hopes, I’d say that’s some good growth for a brand new IP that got skewered by major review sites and had a rocky start. GO BRINK GO!

I daresay, that would suggest that Brink has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, so far. I mean, PC and PS3 combined would only need to sell 350,000 units, which is roughly 50% of 360 sales. Surely the other two platforms could accomplish that.
While it’s undeniable and disappointing that the numbers keep dropping can I put my ‘non-moderator moderator’ hat on and remind everyone that there is a not so fine line between discussing failure and reveling in it.
These are real people you’re putting the boot in to and ones who for professional and legal reasons can’t even defend themselves or do anything else.
Sorry, I’m sure I come across as a suck up and interfering nob but I just feel we need to have some perspective and basic respect.

Did you know that the users of these very forums have probably created more free content for their fellow players than you’ve ever purchased? They’ve made maps, mods, models, tools, movies, configs, guides, support pages, wiki’s… all driven by passion for the games they love rather than the desire to make money. Given the choice, they would rather that SD/Bethesda didn’t spend money, time and resources on DLC and just released the Brink SDK instead so they could make more for the community. If MS/Sony allowed it, they would distribute all of this creativity to every platform for all to enjoy. More free content has been released by members of the community than all DLC combined… and none have asked for anything more than a thanks in return. At this very moment, people still continue to create content for SD’s past games, to bring longevity and continued fun for those that still play… again for free.
So take your poncy little attitude and piss off back to your ignorant little existence you live in, and don’t even dare think that you spending your parents money on a couple of maps contributes even a fraction to what PC modders and mappers have brought to the gaming world.
I spent (wasted a big chunk of it. Not worth 60 bucks, maybe 10-20) so let me laugh at them =/
If they had basic respect for US they wouldn’t trick us with those videos and playing with a 360 controller. They would of finished the game. They would of done the networking correctly. They wouldn’t overhype it.

I don’t even know what you are trying to say here. Perhaps “The Drunk Guy” explains it.

Ouch…
Yeah, the sales figure for the PS3 and PC pale in comparison:
http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/browse.php?name=brink
360 = 0.65m
PS3 = 0.29m
PC = 0.07M (OUCH!)
Total = 1.01m
Since the average revenue generated is around $20 per game for the publishers+devs, I’d say that Brink has made them at least $20m so far. As long as it cost less than $20m to create and market, that’s good.
I haven’t spent a dime of my parents $ in 20 years.
I have probably $4k worth of games and DLC for MY 360 ALONE.
All I see from the PC crowd is “If I can’t F**K the gamecode into what I WANT,
then it’s garbage.” “I want this, I want that” “ETQW has this” “RtCW has this”
I can’t think why anyone watching the container city previews could possibly think
that BRINK would play anything like those games. It’s SO obvious.
You are not ENTITLED TO ANYTHING just cause you play on PC.
Everything comes down to money these days and PC players just don’t want to spend it.
You’ll be lucky to even have PC games come out 5 years from now.
Can’t find exactly how much brink cost to make but from multiple sources an AAA title game costs 20mil to 100mil.
Now remember that brink isn’t an AAA title because it sucks (by looking at the numbers. You don’t see AAA titles with 300 players) but they DID try. Maybe they didn’t break even, but they had little profit most likely.
