@SockDog: I think for things like ammo there’s no need to broadcast it, for health I wonder if you can see your team mates health bars or only medics see them? If you can see them then I don’t think you need to hear their vsays as well.
I thought someone said as a soldier you see how much ammo they have and as a medic you see how much health they have. Between the two health is more important to know how weak your team mates might be, this is of interest even to the soldiers.
@potkettleback: As far as turning off the auto-vsays, that’s an interesting thought as far as not giving you away. If you were in disguise you wouldn’t want them throwing you ammo in front of them for instance. But if you had them off, and you really needed ammo or health, you’d want to be able to ask for it. If you can turn them off, the next question is, in that case can you manually say them when you feel you are safe? What you would want maybe would be a toggle which could be easier than trying to remember or bind to vsays that normally you’d never need to invoke manually. You just hit your toggle auto-vsays key when you were under cover.
Can’t think of any other situations than playing operative where you’d want them off
On a related note, I really like how in ETQW when you are dualing with a guy you can see his health, so when he beats you you can see how much he had left. Makes sense to as you should be able to tell how damage you did. Hopefully they have a similar mechanic in Brink.
