Brink Dresses Latest MCV in Blue

(badman) #1

Not one to pass up an opportunity to leave a mark, Brink is all over the outsides of the latest issue of MCV. Published every week, MCV is the largest games industry trade publication in the UK and is mainly targeted at publishers, distributors, and retailers of video games and gaming hardware. If you’d like to have a peek, you can check out the digital version of MCV in all its blue glory either online or in downloadable PDF form.

So is the Bethesda marketing machine now being greased, ready for full output in January?

This might sound a bit camp, but that really is a lovely shade of blue :stuck_out_tongue:

I was hoping for a long preview or something. It is only just a few quotes. It’s quite cool all the same though.

On the Brink page of that magazine I noticed the Games for Windows logo. What does that mean for the users? Aside from Windows being the only OS supported.

(badman) #8

It means that the Windows version of the game adheres to this.

(Floris) #9

I hope Brink being a GFWL game doesn’t mean it won’t get a linux client. It would be sad for me to have to skip it.

Ah, right. Somehow thought that everything with ‘live’ at the end has something to do with xboxes. So this Games for Windows title is earned only after the game passes Microsoft’s inspection. Meaning stability, ergonomics, painless installation and such.

Wonder why Section 8 manages to reboot my machine after 5 minutes playing? Or GWL just means Microsoft is offering server support?
It means that the Windows version of the game adheres to this.
I just read the overview but those points actually sound pretty reasonable.

Please don’t use GWFL it is a horrible service.

Being forced to use a GWFL gamer tag is just horribe. Pritty much any time you try to create a name it isn’t available so you can’t get your name how you want.

Section 8 did this instead of incoporating an independant voip system, friends/clan list as well as profiles.

Issues with server stability etc.

Just keep the forumla that has worked ,ETQW had one of the best friends/clan lists around and the profile system was completely fine.

GWFL is a decisive factor if Brink ops to have it then I wont buy Brink it’s just that much of let down and many of my friends and old clan mates feel the same.

SD has already said they are opposed to GFWL
SD has already said they are opposed to GFWL
I spend a few minutes looking for the interview where it was mentioned. You don’t have a link by any chance? It showed an awesomely polite way of saying GfWL sucks.

(Nail) #19

SD are adamant we won’t have Games For Windaaaaargh Live inflicted on us here. They’re agreeably if cautiously rude about it, in fact)
