Brink Dedicated Server FAQ is Here

(Mustkunstn1k) #61

Might be because of pirates. Tho I am not sure how that exactly works.

(kautzy) #62

the FAQ lacks information regarding the availability of linux dedicated server files… :frowning:

(LyndonL) #63

It also doesn’t specifically say Windows does it?

(thelurker) #64

Since there are definitely going to be dedicated servers its pretty much a given that we’ll get server browsers and such right? Don’t suppose anyone’s seen some screen shots of them tucked away somewhere?

(Mustang) #65

As Arcanoxer mentioned the inclusion of batch files indicates Windows

(Nail) #66

they’ll run in dosbox iirc

16 slots is way low… Only my members will fill that up and had same issue with black ops.

32 would be perfect.

Linux server files would be great!

I hope it will be like BC2 series… like no one can play from old patch/version and it will auto update to new versions as soon as it’s released!

Brink uses Steamworks so the game automatically updates.

32 might be perfect for you in terms of how many people are on your servers, but it’ll probably be too many people for the size of the server: shooting fish in a barrel.

Also, Steam doesn’t let you play any game unless you have the latest version (unless you’re in offline mode).

Linux Dedi binaries please!

Some of us do run linux boxes for our stuff (since the days of Wolf/ET).
