Hello mapping types

bridges_beta3 has eventually evolved into bridges_beta4
and can be downloaded

This is purely a test version though = and may well crash your server = beta 5 will be a stable version

Bridges Beta 4 is running on our 64 ETPub and it is the best version yet. Frame rates are good and gameplay moves all over the map (as it should in well made maps). No bottle necks to report. Kudos, Mr.Fin, on giving us such a great new map to frag on.

Hi Guys

Please consider bridges_beta4 as a test

It’s almost there, but has teething problems when full to the brim with 64 players.
I’ve a feeling that it’s due to too many entities in use again - which was a problem with earlier betas…and which was fixed and therefore should be able to be fixed again ?!

Am on to it -

This testing business is an interesting one, and I personally apreciate those of you that are prepared to try it out on your servers.

The beta4 version is still available for download and needles to say am keen to find out what problems folk find - so they can be fixed.

Will get to a final version one day - hopfully before ET is history!

I did take a look around the alp map - it reminded me more of an old rtcw map I once made with a mine and rail bridges etc.

fyi. a beta 5 version of bridges will be available sometime over the next few days/week or so - am just trying to get some new sounds working.Will post when they are.

For the final version I will have team announcements and a totally fixed spawning system - the present one may still need tweaking slightly

beta5 is the last test

Afterwards amends and the team announcements will take about 2 - 3 weeks to sort out (am enlisting others to do the voices and convenient recording times need to be arranged)

so my expectations are for beta5 test to be ready by this coming weekend and the final to be ready by the first week in Feb.
