Brecourt Manor

(Boleth) #1

Hey everyone, I’m looking for people who know about Brecourt Manor and where the gun placements were exactly and how the allied team overcame their defences, I’m going to try to map this scenario and really need more information about the area, for those of you who dont know about this, paratroopers landed behind enemy lines in normandy on D-Day and destroyed several (3 or 4) artilliary guns which would have been raining shells down on the beach.
thanks
Bol

The assault, which as you probably know was executed by Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne, is described in detail in the book Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose. See chapter 5, “Follow Me”, pages 79-83. Unfortunately, the book does not contain any maps of the area. The whole raid is also featured of course in the second episode of the HBO series with the same name. As far as I can tell, the assault in the episode is a near verbatim rendition of the story as it’s decribed in the book.

You do know that Brecourt Manor is one of the levels in Call of Duty?

Good luck!

IIRC, the Brecourt in CoD wasn’t all that accurate.
