BR-16 on Fragger - good or bad?

So, I played Fragger for awhile since he was free, and decided to buy him. Then I opened a crate and got a silver card for him, with good perks. The only problem is that it is a BR-16 load out. Do people actually use that gun with him? The only thing I ever hear people talk about is the K-121, which I love. I played with the BR for a few matches, and while it’s definitely not a bad gun, I don’t think it fits Fragger well. That said, I also didn’t like the K-121 at first. I just don’t know. What are your thoughts on Fragger’s weapons? What’s the best load out in your opinion?

It’s my favorite assault rifle. Once you get the timing down, you can shoot it pretty rapidly. Take advantage of its accuracy and aim for headshots especially. The gun excels in medium-longish range.

While I’m a lmg guy at heart and have never used the BR-16 on him, not used it at all that much on other mercs (Dreiss FTW).
I think it is his longrange option and could work pretty well on him. If he lands those headshots on the first burst conversation is over. If he doesn’t he has the HP to survive the waiting time for the next burst and the next and the next and the next (Ok I think he might have a babysitter behind him.)

I like the the BR-16, but I feel like it’d be better if he had his old LMG rather than it in the BR-16 in his loadouts, with the A1M4 being his more accurate, yet lower ammo capacity weapon.

M4 is definitely more versatile but the BR16 is for a more defensively oriented player who holds down a small choke point… the gun only has 9 bursts so dont expect crazy kill streaks to happen… BR16 is a high risk high reward weapon if u can do well with the driess on arty/kira u shld in theory do relatively well with the BR16… (note: i run BR16 on sky, driess on kira and arty exclusively dont like the M4 it feels a little to weak)…

K121 is the way to go with Fragger. The 50 bullet magazine makes the difference.

BR16 is very poor in open firefights. If you miss a burst you are hopeless as people mow you down. In close quarter combat especially, where most shots do not miss, missing a burst is a death sentence.

By comparison, both LMG and M4 are the best weapons in the game. LMG has very nice DPS, huge ammo capacity - you can fire and keep on firing on multiple enemies. Its accurate enough in close quarters when hipfiring, and good enough at long range with ironsights.

M4 is extremely accurate, and doesn’t lose accuracy quickly over extended bursts, you can aim for the head and keep aiming for the head. It doesn’t have LMG’s punch in close quarters, but is probably the best weapon to use at mid-range, and works very fine at long ranges as well.

In short, neither LMG or M4 have any real weaknesses, and can be used at any range, in any situation. BR16 suffers from a lot of weaknesses, and is only excelling at long range combat, which is rare for a Fragger; since he should get in there where actions is thickest.

BR16 is poor against multiple opponents, and terrible at gibbing.

Br-16 is amazing at longer distances, in mid/close ranges you will be destroyed by any decent shooting enemy, the reason isn’t that weapon has bad TTK or accuracy (kills fast and is accurate as hell - you can shoot snipers form hip) but when enemy lands his shots on you your accuracy will suffer. Enemys accucary will be great because his aim between your bursts is clear.

BR-16 on Fragger is my workhorse when I need to carry a team. It can 2burst nearly anything if you headshot (which I do), and the DPS is good. I don’t like his LMG after the nerfs to accuracy. People have accused me of hacking when I use the BR-16 so I must be doing it right. It also 1burst finishes downed enemies with a headshot.

BR-16 has the highest DPS in the game so it’s a great weapon if you take the time to learn how to use it properly, especially now that the K-121 has a ridiculous amount of hipfire spread.

I actually bought one of the bronze BR16 loadouts and I like it. It has nice accuracy, DPS and the gun is easier to manage if you get hit.

Go M4 or K121 unless you plan to be passive all game.

I just hate burst fire rifles in any game. Semi-auto I’m fine with, but I just haaate the BR-16.

As you can see, some people love it and some don’t. Try the default loadout, Skyhammer’s default loadout and the silver you got for an hour or so, and decide for yourself. Personally I really hate his LMG and love the BR-16.

I received the BR-16 with my Obsidian loadout. Hated it at first but I’m starting to get the hang of it. It’s a very unforgiving weapon though, punishing you heavily for missing. Luckily Fragger can soak up a few bullets.

Just land your hits and kill everything in 2 bursts to the head. The burst grouping is very tight
